AZ- I agree with ross. I would only load for rifles or handguns where I wanted/ needed more accuracy . not plinking. 9mm ammo is inexpensive as far as handgun ammo goes. of course you are getting the brass free. I would go with rcbs, my rockchucker is still great after many many years. if I was you I would try one of the rifle calibers besides the 30-30, and the 9 mm to start. 300 rum I believe would be the biggest savings. ron

Bill- I have seen very few scaled quail in the years I have hunted. I have seen them down by douglas, and to the east from there in New Mexico; and east of ..... Holbrook. I have seen them there more than once while working. much like the covey of mearns I saw near hanagan meadow, I just thought they were lost. I had no idea there were two sub specie of gambels and scaled. interesting. ron.

my brother and i use standard rcbs dies for our senderos. they shoot really good groups. we have vais brakes . good bullets and good barrels are more important than comp dies. several of our senderos have krieger barrels. you do not say what you are shooting at. 140 berger is going to be faster and flatter that a 168 and kick less.

superperformance- one of the big jumps using superperformance powder i see is the 300 wsm, 165 nosler partition, 3273 fps. i read some where the "superperformance powder " that is being sold, is the one blended for 30-06. that rate would have a wide application. wish there was data for my 300 rsaum

it has a 20" barrel?? i would load 120 ballistic tips for coues. 125 partition for elk/bear.

what loading in that rifle? nice shooting.

i use a 168 ballistic silver tip and either varget or I4064. .030 off the lands. i also use 167 scenar and 168 berger. not sure why you are changing bullets when the others were working.

what rifle? cartridge and bullet?

the one that shoots the smallest group at 75 yards.

are you using to hunt coues? elk?

unit 1 is all Rocky, as is 27 i would think. when i think of a true desert buck, i see a really low desert deer. under 2,500' elevation or so. their bodies are usually a lot smaller and their antlers USUALLY lack the mass that rockys get. genetically, i doubt if there is any difference at all in the two subspecies. the desert deer probably just lack body size and antler mass due to nutrition. there is a lot more to eat and a lot more water in higher elevations there was a big deer, 296", taken down in the kofas. pictures of the ones i see taken in mexico are good body size also. it seems there are several sub species , gene pools.

what about unit 1/ 27. are they rocky mountain?

33% hunt success sounds like better than than most of the hunts, especially for mule deer. good luck and enjoy.ron

N-133 for 6ppc and 67.5 gr, benchmark for 22-250 and 50gr , Imr-4198 for .222 50-52, varget for .17 rem 29 gr , 6mmbr - varget and 107 gr, varget and I4064 .243 85-90 gr, 6.5-284 mrp and mrp-2 123 scenar. 748 for 30-30, 30-06 garand match rifle- varget, I4064, i4895, h4895, n140. 30-06 bolts- varget . 7mm re-19 and h-4831 . 300rsaum varget. 300wm re-22. in most cases i only tried one powder to up to 3 powders.

if you check at brunos the barrels are around 359. then you to install is 150-175. a shilen trigger ( 100 -120) is my favorite but they are hard to install. timey are I believe a 120 and jewell are 220.

I would leave the .270 alone. get a sendero or a rem 700 long range. the long range is heavier than a sendero .
