    6.5 Creedmoor

Not yet I’m running factory ammo through it to get the barrel broke in. The scope was borrowed to get some group size info and then I’ll start working up a load which I’ll be happy to provide. I’ll be disappointed if the rifle doesn’t shoot 1/2” or better with hand loads.

Custom 300 wsm and 6.5 Creedmoor

I am pretty impressed with it. It is very solid, comes up nice, and has a good feel to it. I thought it would be worth trying with how hard some of the Manners stocks are to come by these days. Manners was probably my first choice for the build but they were 5-6 months out. I'm trying really hard not to set it up and shoot it but I have it at a local shop right now and figured it would be better not fired. The PTG bottom metal didn't require any stock work which was nice. I think you'd be happy with it if you went with one. Thanks for the response.

  18. Do coues deer get up and feed some during mid-day or change bedding positions? I've seen mule deer change positions sometimes in mid-day and wondering if coues will do the same. Thanks for any input.

    Mid-day glassing?

A mid-day nap is definitely a nice thing every now and then, especially after a few early mornings and long hikes.

  22. I recently became a member here and I've really enjoyed reading the posts. This is a great site and I've gained a lot of insight from it already. My friends and I will be heading south the end of the month. This will be our third year in a row making the trip from Colorado. We hunted 36a two years ago and killed two bucks and a lion between the four of us. Last year we hunted 36c and went two for four. We spent most of our time around the area it sounds like the fire was in. I am wondering how bad the fire was. Did it burn out the area completely, or is there still some decent vegetation left? I can be more specific on where, but I want to respect the etiquette of the members of the site and those that might hunt the area. Thanks for letting me be a part of what seems like a neat community.

    Elkhorn fire

Thanks for your help. Sounds like it was a pretty low intensity fire.
