New Mexico draw results out 2 weeks early!
AzDiamondHeat replied to Couestracker's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
My buddy drew elk, deer, antelope and oryx. He seems to be happy....lol -
I like to use coyote targets. for basically the same reason as above, small target doesn't need to be as far. Of course they are not the same anatomy as an elk, but close enough to get the right muscle and eye memory. Much easier to set up too and readily available at all the stores.

We need to go out and compare these some upcoming weekend. I have the new Vortex Razor 85 and would like to see how it compares side by side to some of these others in the actual outdoors. Maybe we should schedule a Saturday early morning out our way at the base of some mountain range like the San Tans where everyone interested brings their optics and we line them all up side by side and give everyone who comes a chance to look through them and see what they think. Could be a fun little CWT get together. I have nothing of value to add in participation but I would LOVE to see this. I have never been an optics guy, but I am getting there.

Loved my pop up. Wish I still had it. Be careful with the propane and make sure everything is "safe" and you should be fine. Get one with full size wheels and tires and you can take it anywhere. They setup as fast or faster than a tent. The only "con" is there is not much storage, but that can be remedied.

Do you guys have the straight or the angled?
-
I am surprised no sheep hunters recognize that mountain. Just about died on the backside on my quad today. Nasty road. I know I have a couple cousins on here that KNOW exactly where this is....lol

Are you ready for some coues?
AzDiamondHeat replied to OpticNerd's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I want one. I won't be greedy. Just one. -
And probably ran right to the road and died on a small rise so all you had to do is back up the truck and lower the tailgate. Some guys have all the luck.....lol

Got my 1st archery bull tag. Need equipment advice
AzDiamondHeat replied to DUG's topic in Elk Hunting
I have been very happy with my garmin oregon. Lots of free maps available and I can sync it with my other gps unit and my computer. I pop it into a ram holder when I ride my quad then tether it to my pack while hiking. Or I just use the sun and a stick. -

Some of the guys I know will use sneakeez or whatever on their boots. I tried it once and didn't like it. I am more of a "call them to me" kind of guy rather than a "sneak over to them" guy. If I know I am not hitting the steeps, I will wear trail shoes. My boots are pretty light an agile though. I have plenty of camo that I don;t need to wash them while out, but I do go back home a few times during the hunt and I will wash everything then. Scent spray is a waste of your money. Just my opinion. -

Let me know if you have one or know where to get one. Just need the rim but would take the tire if it is on there already.

I have never sat in a blind but am likely to do it this year with my wife. For you guys that use them, do you typically leave them out or take them down each day? Any theft issues? Is it prudent to cable them to a tree or something?
-
Thanks guys. It's for my wife's cow hunt. We have it up in the backyard practicing the exact range that it will be set at on our spot. Excited to see her first elk. Crossbow none the less.
-
Big brown truck just showed up with my spanky new Kodiak as well. I usually use my toyhauler but there are those times when it just isn't worth it to take the trailer but I still don;t want to sleep in the dirt.
-
Why not by water?
-
I should have added I need a 12" rim

Goodwill. Couple bucks for pants and shirts and he will out grow them next year. I also have just thrown a leafy jacket on them once they sit. gives lots of hiding even when they get the wiggles.

Anyone in Gilbert that has a bow press that would like to help me put my string back on my bow?

It is unfortunate you had a bad experience with your realtor, but your statement is untrue. A Realtor is bound by law to represent the clients best interest. This fiduciary remains throughout the close and in certain context even after the sale. While it is true there are many poor agents out there, it does not change the fact that even the bad ones cannot "walk away" after signing. There is recourse for any improper action taken by an agent. As stated above, there are many reasons to have a GOOD agent. Protection is at the top. Most of all, a good agent knows that a client is a lifelong opportunity, not a one and done sale and treats the client accordingly. ...and yes, I am a realtor (Broker actually).
