Still Charging Cards? There Might Be Hope.....

The guys that applied by themselves have a better chance of these late hits as there will only be a few spots open from declined cards. Unfortunately I am not one of those guys.... congrats on the late present from AZGFD

  9. Sadly, government gets involved when society's ability to self manage fails. The general philosophy within our society these days is "it is not illegal" so go ahead and do it. Find every loophole and advantage and not just use it, but ABUSE it. I am not directing this at trail cams, but the ATTITUDE of our society. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't always mean you SHOULD do something. The "me" generation is what is causing these things to happen within our government. I love trail cams. I use them regularly. I use them on MY land though. I have no issues with anyone using them anywhere it is legal to do so. The issues I have are with some of the attitudes and actions that go along with SOME of the people who are using them(and UTVs, ATVS, etc etc). I feel the same way about the people who blare their stereo full blast OUT IN THE WOODS. Abuse is the reason the government is stepping in. Just my opinion.

But for argument sake a person can easily access the internet without owning a computer. Good thing the draw is coming earlier this year. Some of you guys are wound up a little tight....lol

Garage doors insulated / non insulated? Gauge ? Etc .

I do agree with Az about the west facing door. When the sun hits the metal panels it radiates in A LOT. With south facing I wouldn't waste my money. If in the future you want to cut out some of the radiating heat you can by the cheap inserts and DIY. I did that on my big garage that faces West and it does help quit a bit with the radiating heat. Overall temp in there is still 5000 degrees though....lol

Garage doors insulated / non insulated? Gauge ? Etc .

Do not insulate unless you are insulating and air conditioning the whole space. No benefit at all to only insulate a non-sealed door with nothing else insulated(garage walls and ceilings are typically not insulated). caveat: I have no idea where you live and my response is meant for the hot climate areas.

    Coues hunter or Coues Sniper?

Did he do it by himself or use your skill and knowledge to assist? I would assume you helped him get there, find the deer, set up properly and take the shot. I would also assume either you or him spent time behind that scope of that particular rifle working up a load and sighting it in properly. So my point stands. Good hunters(shooters) will be effective at any distance. You are correct, all I did though was call out the range and wind for him, he twisted the cds dial and did everything else. But your correct. It took practice. And I bet you were super proud of him and rightly so. That is a tough shot but the confidence from practice makes it doable.

    Coues hunter or Coues Sniper?

Yes, you can be a good shooter without being a good hunter, but few good hunters are poor shooters. This is shooting deer with rifles we are talking about. It has been done for a very long time with great success with much more limited weapons than we have now. Lots of guys "hunt" that are poor hunters. Having a better rifle does little to change this fact.

    Coues hunter or Coues Sniper?

Who says we are getting "more efficient" at killing due to the equipment? If one argues that our equipment is making us better at killing at longer distances, then that person must also accept that killing at longer distances is no longer an "ethics" question. I would believe that the person who is capable and efficient at killing deer at longer distances is just as capable and efficient at killing them up close. The same would go in reverse. If you cannot hunt them up close it is extremely doubtful you would have the ability to shoot them at long distances EFFECTIVELY and EFFICIENTLY. Good practice makes good hunters at any distance.

    Draw Deadline Has Passed

Im in the same boat but for different reasons. I quit my day job at the end of last year to go full time with my small business and it has blown up into an avalanche of work. I wasnt going to risk drawing a bull tag when I know I wont be able to focus on it, so its otc hunts for another year I hope i have successful business, but I hope it's never so successful that a I have to skip bull season. Careful what you wish for there will always be the hunt. Ever hear the story of the old bull and the young bull sitting on top of the hill overlooking all the cows? I just lay myself off every September and then realize later in the month how much I need my services and then re-hire me....

    Coues hunter or Coues Sniper?

I think the only "category" should be SUCCESSFUL or NOT SUCCESSFUL. It is up to the individual hunter to decide what "success" means to them.
