You sold all of your firearms. Your nazi old lady wears the pants in your house and she tells you that you can only buy one hunting rifle to use for the rest of your life. You have $1500 to spend. You enjoy hunting Coues every year, but also like to put in for elk hunts. What setup would you go with knowing this would be the last rifle and scope you would ever lay your hands on? Disclaimer: My wife is a sweetheart and this situation is purely theoretical.

Backpage.com worked well for me. I ended up paying just under $5 to post, but I sold all three guns within a week.

Other than this website, what is the best way to go about selling guns? I would like to sell to someone in southern Arizona so I can avoid shipping a gun. I called Cabelas in Phoenix and they sounded like they would offer a pretty fair price. I called a pawn shop in Tucson said they would offer between $50 and $125 for a rifle in excellent condition that sells in the $500-$600 range new. Apparently they they make their money off of tweakers who need money now regardless of the deal. Thanks for any ideas. P.S. I have the following guns for sale. If you know someone looking for a new hunting set up I would appreciate passing the word allong. #1) Ruger M77 Mark II, 7mm rem mag, wood stock, blued barrel, Bushnell 4200 elite scope with 40 mm objective lens and 3-10 power. #2) Ruger M77 Mark II, .243, black synthetic stock, stainless barrel, Bushnell 4200 elite scope with 50mm objective lens and 3-10 power. #3) Ruger Mark III pistol, .22 caliber. Well, I officially went with a Tikka T3 .270 win. I haven’t shot it yet, but it seems pretty dang cool after packing it all around the house. I would still be playing with it right now but my wife made me put it away. . . . I am just kidding with the wife jokes! I am newly married so it is fun for me. I didn’t really need to sell my previous firearms but I felt like something new. My goal is to put some hours in with this gun and to become very confident with it. Then I will be ready to go after whatever I am hunting in this state. I am thinking about going up to Cabelas tomorrow after work to pick up a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x scope with the Rapid Z 600 recticle. Thanks for all of the posts. P.S. Are the scope rings that come with the Tikka the way to go, or is there a better option?

All guns are sold pending payment in the morning. If you are looking for a nice scope check out the reviews on the 4200 Elite.

Finally sold all of the guns. Still have two nice scopes for sale. *Bushnell 4200 Elite 3.5 to 10x, 40 mm objective (sells for $429 on Cabelas with a 4.8 star rating based on 32 reviews) - $300 * Bushnell 4200 Elite 3.5 to 10x, 50 mm objective lens (not sold on Cabelas, but I found it for between $500 and $600 on the internet) - $350 Call Rob at 609-2924 with any questions.

The .243 has a 22 inch barrel.

Dropped the price on the scopes. Sold my pistol this morning, but still have the rifles and scopes. The $375 is firm for the rifles.

I noticed the same thing. Now I have been making up names for the new tanks I find. Stinkhole gulch and Desert Gem look to hold the most promise so far.

Thanks for all of the replies. After doing some more research I think I am going to go with the Zeiss Rapid Z-600 in a 3-9x magnification, unless someone convinces me otherwise. I think the recticle is awesome, and looks pretty user friendly. It has great reviews, and for the 3-9x conquest you are really not paying much more than you would for a Nikon monarch or a Bushnell elite. I considered going for a higher magnification, but it seems like you have to be at a magnification of between 8 and 9 depending on what bullet you are shooting for the yardage markers to be accurate. Since I will be at that magnification for any longer shots I do not see the benefit in paying $200 more for the 3.5 to 10x other than maybe the larger objective lens which would let more light in. Thanks again. . . this site rocks!

I was poking around on the computer and the rapid-z recticle by Zeiss looks pretty sweet as well. It seems like it would be easier to be more precise with the lines over the circles on the Nikon BDC, but I don't know for sure as I have not shot either.

Does the Nikon have to be set at a certain magnification for the BDC marks to be accurate?

I walked out of the store paying over $500 for this Ruger Mark III Hunter pistol after taxes. It is a couple of years old, and has been fired only a couple hundred times. It is in perfect condition and has been well maintained. This pistol is fun to shoot and is very accurate. I am selling 3 of my guns and am hoping to buy one rifle for all of my hunting needs. . . . . trying to save money with the birth of my son. I am asking $400. Please contact Rob at 520-609-2924 if you have any questions.

The scope is a Bushnell 4200 elite 2.5 – 10x, 50mm. It is a very nice scope and I am thinking about keeping it for my new rifle. The 40mm model sells for $429, and I know the 50 mm was a couple hundred dollars more. The rifle is a Ruger M77, 243 with a black synthetic stock and a stainless barrel. It is in excellent condition. I bought this gun for Coues after deciding my 7mm mag was a bit overkill. I have taken two coues with it and both have dropped in their tracks. It hardly kicks and is a joy to shoot. It is super accurate. . . the last time I took it to the range I could cover up three shots with a quarter at 100 yards. I sighted it in with less than a box of shells and it has just been a 3 or 4 shots fired through it for two hunting seasons. This is a great setup and there is nothing wrong with this gun. I am selling 3 of my guns and am hoping to buy one for all of my hunting needs. . . . . trying to save money with the birth of my son. You would pay well over $1000 if you went to the store and bought everything brand new. I will sell the rifle for $425 and the rifle and scope for $900. Included: doskosport case, Butler Creek Sling, Butler Creek flip open scope covers, part of a box of ammunition, cleaning kit. Please contact Rob at 520-609-2924 if you have any questions.

The scope is a Bushnell 4200 elite 2.5 – 10 x 40 mm listed on Cabelas at $429. (32 reviews with a 4.8 star rating). The rifle is a Ruger M77 7mm Rem mag and is in excellent condition. I shot less than a box of shells through it when I sighted it in. Since then it has been three shots a season to check it is still sighted in and 1 or 2 shells per hunting season. It has always been well taken care of. I have cleaned it after every use and it stays in the case in my closet. I put two shots into a 4 inch circle at 320 yards to down my last AZ elk. This is a great setup. There is nothing wrong with this gun. I am selling 3 of my guns and am hoping to buy one for all of my hunting needs. . . . . trying to save money with the birth of my son. You would pay well over $1000 if you went to the store and bought everything brand new. I will sell everything for $800. Included: doskosport case, brown leather Galco sling, Butler Creek flip open scope covers, part of a box of ammunition, cleaning kit. Please contact Rob at 520-609-2924 if you have any questions.

That must have been a rush. Nice work.

Does anyone know a store that carries this call in Tucson?
-
I finally got through on their 1888 number and found out they are based in UT and there are not any stores that carry them in Tucson. You have to order them through their website.

I have tried calling 3 times on pigs I busted out of a wash and have not had anything turn around yet. I bought a primos call. Maybe I am not using it correctly.

A have a quick question. When I sighted in my bow and had to max out the gang adjustment by sliding the entire sight down as far as it would go, and I still had to move the 20 yd pin down even further for it to be on. I bought a 7 pin sight and I can only use the first 5 pins because I run out of room at the bottom of the sight. I think has to do with my peep sight placement, but I moved the peep so when I draw to my anchor point I open my eye and am naturally looking through the peep. It is not a big deal for this season because I don't plan on using more than my first 4 pins when hunting, but I would like to figure it out for the future. Any thoughts?

Your pictures have been killing me. I have been itching to get out again after getting within 80 yds of a mullie buck last Sunday (not nearly as big as yours). Now I am really dying to get back out. Nice work on the deer.

I just bought myself a spott hog for Christmas and love it.
