Hey John, I'll take the 4.5-14 x 40 and will be in your neck of the Valley tomorrow morning. I'll call you mid morning if that is OK. If not, then we can do it later in the day or whenever works for you.

Hey Harley I have a Remington Nylon 22. It's light and will be a bit long but being your kid he will grow into it in a couple of years. Give me a holler if you are interested. I only ask that you dont't sell it to buy somthing else. They are kinda hard to come by and the Doc says I should start thinking about thinning out the stable.

They are about as hard to kill as a Coues or a Black Bear. Plenty of people use a 223 and are successful and the animal does not suffer.

Well I think most people can see past that. I think I' drive up to Payson in the morning. Usually takes about 50 minutes or so and see if there are any Trout left in the lakes there. Maybe catch a 12 incher and post a closeup and call it a 18 incher.

I have no doubt I can find bulls. I'll take two weeks off for the hunt and probably have some weekend help. But, I'll be solo for the most part and at 70 years old humping all that meat out of a canyon or wherever back to camp on foot one quarter at a time could take a couple of days. I've never owned an ATV but even with one there is no guarantee it would be of much help so hiring a guide and having a few other people along on this hunt is where my head is at. Except for one deer in Sonora every big game animal I have killed was solo. A couple of Mule Deer, four Coues, six Javelina, a Black Bear, one Elk and a Caribou.

A broken ankle and Prostrate Cancer have put me on the sidelines the past couple of years and I usually don't post pictures when I do get out.

Was that directed to me GG? Not sure what your post is all about.

That's the beauty of the draw. I guess you will be busy and I with ya'll the best of luck and a safe hunt.

I appreciate all the responces and PM's.

Have you noticed the price of diesel and gas lately? People have no qualms about laying out $50K for a car or twice that for a truck or 10X's that for a house. One thing that people don't take into consideration is how many hours a guide ('s) spend scouting, cost of insurance, NFS Permits. Spare me me PLZ. For me, it's never about the money.

Waylon, He got back to me late last night.

Nice clean kill. Congratulations to you both on a great team effort.

That's very cool. Good Luck.

Great caliber.

Yeah some do and some don't but they don't have a website, at least that I could find. Just a Facebook page. A3 has a website but no pricing. I called them too and left a VM and sent them an inquiry direct from their site so I guess I'll just wait to see if anything pans out or I'll just do the hunt solo like my last Bull hunt.

I don't remember much of an issue with 15's. I currently have 10EL's and 12 NL and don't have any problems. Sorry to hear you guys are having problems.
-
I contacted them last night and then spoke with them today at noon and again at 3. Still waiting on pricing. They are getting a lot of calls but you would think pricing would be something they had a handle on from doing past hunts knowing that people would be contacting them.

What bino's are you currently using?

That's a Coues Caliber if there ever was one.

I don't have any problem glassing either freehand or from a tripod.
-
If you are a candidate for Lasik I would go that route. You didn't say how old you are. I have worn glassed since I was 13 and had RK in the early 90's and I was good for about 15 years before I had to get glasses again. I wear both prescription glasses and polarized sun glasses but when hunting I don't wear the sunglasses. Both have progressive so I can read, use computer and see distance.
