Well having done both a few times there is nothing wrong with an early hunt. You can end up with tag soup either way. Early hunts are hot, late hunts have slim pickens. I tagged out on a bull on Wednesday after six days of leaving at 4-5AM each day and getting back at about 7:30. Some mornings were 18dgF and we hiked five miles on some days.

I wouldn't bother. It's too slow even for 168's. I would stick to something like 4064 to RL15. The slowest I have used was 760 with 168's.

Very cool, love the XP-100 too. You are only the second person I know who took a Ram with a pistol. The other was a woman in the late 80's who used a 357.

Find someone who does water jet. Even without that upscaling this to double the size should be a nobrainer in an afternoon.

OK. I had a 1.5X on my TC and have a Burris 2X on a Super Redhawk. Neither one is what I would consider shooting much past 100 yards.

WHat power scopes are you using? I never had that problem on my Contender.

I have used Casey's too in the past. My guide was based out of FL's so it was convienent. I was expecting 2-3 weeks so it looks like they will freeze it then thaw it to cut it up. The dude asked if 4 steaks per package was ok.

The only bear I ever shot was on my birthday in 2000 and was a young one and I only took the backstrap. What a mistake. It was like juicy beef. Trich is no big deal. I think you can kill it by freezing the meat for a month.

The two guys I know that had it done weren't even overweight.

I leave Thursday to shoot an Elk and hope to be back by Monday but could be done Friday. Might drag it out a few days longer too. A bear would be nice too. A case is fine also.
