Where can I find bulk .223 bullets?
PRDATR replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I managed to finally save up enough and get an AR in November and had been looking around for ammo and accessories for it. Flash forward to 12/14 and I sitting in a motel in Mexico and the Sandyhook shooting comes on the news. By the time I'm back in the states all heck breaks loose and AR ammo and stuff is nowhere to be found. I expect prices to stay high for quite a while and while they will eventually begin to drop I don't expect them to come down to pre Sandyhook levels. I definitely think you got gouged. What brand dies did you get? Are they small base or standard? -

Too many republicans stayed home and didn't get out and vote. Just gave the election away. It will happen again in 2016 if the party continues to put in unelectable candidates as in 2012 and 2008. McCain didn't know which way was up and couldn't energize the voters. He hasn't done much for AZ and being a POW isn't enough to run for president, but some seemed to think so. Palin was amusing to listen to but had nothing to say, no platform/no plan. Romney was out of touch, had no tack (or ba11s) and pissed someone off everytime he opened his mouth. Ryan wasn't credible and didn't represent the views of the people he needed to vote for him and acted like he didn't care. Bush effed up every timed he turned around and the whole country was tired of his crap and ready for "change". Obama outflanked McCain on all sides like a track star going against a geriatric. Hope and change is now rape and pillage and will continue if we don't get someone with integrity and charisma on the ticket in 2016 to run against Hillary. -
Any ranches in the area? I've seen a few ranch dogs that don't get fed much and are left to roam around.

Never saw one jump like a Tarpon, and I've caught a few of them. Carp are fun to catch but I've never returned one back to water.

Other than the Weather Channel in the morning while I'm getting dressed I don't watch TV very often. -

I like being informed as much as the next guy but don't always get the time I would like to read all of them. It would help me out if there was more than a link. Maybe a heads up as to what was changed or a comment on what the Bill is about would be great. -
Are the stocks ADL or BDL. I have an older 700 in 7mag with the black ADL stock I'd like to replace with something newer, but also ADL.

Mike is a class act and has a boatload of knowledge. I need to get one of his frame pins. -
Doesn't suprise me. S&W make some fine pistols and I have had a Sigma for many years, never a FTF.

Why a private ceremony? I'd suspect he would want as much facetime with his voters as possible.

Thanks.

Nice variety of fish you have there. I don't mind snake and had quite a few non-venomous one as pets throughout the years but anything with fangs gets the shovel. That is a big snake.

I'd say that only in the last half century that there have been more advances made in diagnosis and treatment for ADHD, Bipolar and a myriad of others. These ailments aren't imagined and treatments vary from case to case. I venture to surmise that people like Van Gogh and Hemingway may have had different lives had they lived in later times. Pharmaceuticals, in addition to observing behaviors again case by case, and building on what modern medicine and phsychriatric's have taught us is where we are now but there is a long way to go, IMHO. Add the complexities of todays society it really adds another element to the equation. There are side effects no doubt to most meds but we can't lock family away in rubber rooms or turn our backs on folks with PTSD.

Amanda, I tried to send you a message about my thoughts on the message about the new map that pops up on every forum but for some reason you can't receive messages.

The 270 is a fine cartridge but bear in mind that the 300WM has roughly 1000 foot pounds more energy when comparing 150 gr bullets.

Same here. Probably already sold out of ammo.

Thanks, keep up the good work. -
Did you have your name on it? I keep a business card in the case for my GPS and P&S Cameras.

I prefer the Remington's for looks and location of the safety. The lighter rifle will kick more and for a hunting rifle in 300 I would look to have the total weight with scope at around 8 to 8 1/2 pounds. I would also shoot 180gr bullets for elk.

What rifle do you have?

Probably the best stuff out there if you really need it and it can be a lifesaver but it is priced out of the reach for the average Joe.

That's how I interpret it but since it is not the case now he will have BATF come up with a procedure probably modeled after what most states do now when you buy through an FFL holder. This will include any and all gun sales both private and retail but I don't see it happening anytime in the near future. -
just an fyi, I called the service dog agency they are using (az power paws) and asked about the process for a family to get a dog. Anyone else here can call them and do the same. They do indeed charge for the dogs. They charge the family $6,000 of the estimated $22,000 that it takes to raise and train the dogs. The rest is covered by the organization's fundraising as a non-profit. The family is required to make the $6,000 payment after a fairly lengthy approval process (which includes interviews with family, friends, and doctor) and before the child starts a two week "boot camp" with the dog. During the approval process, the organization requires the child and family to prove the need for the dog and has them comeback about every 6-8 weeks to see how the condition/need has changed. They require the child and family to spend time at the facility to see which dogs are best matched with them. Once they get a dog that seems to be a match, then they do the two week boot camp (mostly to train the child about the dog, since the dog is trained). I also confirmed that this organization is accredited by Assistance Dogs International. here is a link for that: http://www.assistancedogsinternational.org/location/arizona/ Amanda, I don't know where you find the time to run this site nevertheless do the research you do. I'm proud to be a member of CWT. I have a niece who went through this @ 3 years old and is now 32 with two kids. Yeah, she still has the disease and had an insulin pump for a while about 5 years ago so to the rest of the members of CWT all I can say is these are hard times for all of us and as a parent you never think stuff will happen to your child so donate if you can as every nickel helps so tomorrow just drive past Starbucks, Mickie D's or subway and spend that Five Spot on something else. I guaranteeeeee you'll sleep better. PRDATR OUT.
