No need for all that. A few good sized party balloons with 20 to 30 feet of lightweight aluminum foil works pretty good. At least it did 40 years ago.

Looks like Schedule 40 pipe. You might want to call around to a couple of Mechanical Contractors. They may offer you a bit more than scrap prices but there isn't much call for 20" pipe. Mostly 6-12" stuff for chillers and cooling towers.

Very Nice, what part of the island did you fish? The guide looks like a guy I used near Fajardo a few years ago. I don't remember his name, he was from Brazil.

A 24" is going to be tougher to master with the shorter sight picture so I would stay with at least a 26" or 28". With that said I would get a full sized wood stock gun and cut the stock to fit her and probably stay with a 20 gauge, low brass or AA Target Loads.

But if you buy one every October what's the difference? You're still only laying out the cost once a year?

I read about it on an Alaska Forum a few days ago. Apparently the old girl was practically blind. They are however extremely lucky and will probably be better prepared in the future. If you want to go out unarmed by yourself, more power to you. But a least be a little better prepared to protect you family.

Been there, done that. I've had a shoulder full of cactus and landed hard on my tailbone in an effort to keep a rifle from taking a hit. Even then it didn't always pan out. Good luck with the rifle.
