Game and fish website is horrible
PRDATR replied to justanotherpunk's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I was going to drop it off last night on the way home from work but with the boss on vacation I felt it would be better to spend some extra time in the office just in case something came up and ended up doing it online in the morning. It went very smoother and only took a few minutes. I see now that the system crashed, for whatever reason, so it has been extended another 24 hours. -

I read it was sold in 2012. I'd say contact G&F and they should be able to put you in touch with the owner if you're looking to get permission to hunt it.

It is 4:53 and the horses are going to the gate. I used to go and walk around the track when I lived on Long Island. It going to be a heck of a race.

I have rented from them twice without any problems. They ship fast and include a return pre-paid label. Both times I rented Swarvoski 15's and they came in a pelican case with the adapter. You can call and talk to them and they are very easy going. I live in the east valley so renting from them saved me the gas money and drive time to Ross so it was just a matter of convenience for me but I have also rented Rangefinders from Ross and had a great experience.

You can google them.

There will be plenty of time for that. Monsoons usually roll in about the 4th of July.

I don't think doing the course online was an alternative back in 1998 when my kids went through it. I really feel that kids will get a 1000X more out of the course if they can go to one where there are other people there. They will meet other people and kids who also learning the in's and out's of shooting which is the basis of hunting. When they are in a classroom environment with a bunch of other people it really takes the pressure off and people open up and ask questions that some people may want to ask but don't because they don't want to be perceived as someone that doesn't know everything. These instructors are well trained and while we as parents have a lot of knowledge, we have a tendency to put too much pressure on our kids and it can be a big problem for them because they just want to live up to our expectations of success which can really ruin a hunt and turn them off. One positive thing of going to a class is they get to meet and see other people that are just like them.

Yup, seen that photo quite a few times. It didn't go over so well in France though.

I put my kids through it when they were 9+10 along with myself after the woman from the Parks Dept made a big deal out of me sitting along side them in the class. She actually made the instructors throw me out because the class was full so the kids sat through the first class alone. Strings were pulled, which royally ticked her off, and a "spot" was opened up for me and I paid the full amount so I could be in the class with the kids. My 10yo got a higher score than me. LOL

I can't help with the other islands but I have fished with these guys out of Oahu and caught fish. A Marlin about 450 pounds and a Yellow Fin about 135 pounds. Both within about a half hour of each other. My son boated the Yellow Fin then my buddies daughter caught the Marlin. We also saw a huge school of Yellow Fin busting the surface but my buddies daughter and son started getting seasick and wanted to go in. My son and I had some Scopace so the seas didn't bother us which were only about 2 1/2 feet. I would give them a call and see who they recommend. http://www.live-bait.com/frazier/CharterInfo/go

I think I'm just going to do paper this time. -
1/2" can flow 15GPM. Just replace it with a new one.

Great job, and with a bow no less. I need to get off the couch.

I have not hunted 8/6B but I have been in 6A and the weather can be a big factor if it gets dumped on with snow and the roads become soupy. For this reason I prefer some of the other units but with most opportunities for a December tag getting limited to a fraction of what there used to be and the massive pounding some of these units take from back to back to back hunts under the guise of increased hunter opportunity (AKA increa$ed moola for the boys @ G&F)can be disheartening.

I would go to Optics Planet and see if there are some reviews on them. I have heard of them but have not looked through them.

A good friends brother was killed by a "road-hunter", the guy saw a buck on a field edge and fired one shot, other cars were coming down the paved road, so he drove off. Bullet hit brother high chest, he didnt die right away... Guy came back later to see if the buck was back and was met by the State Police. The guy got PROBATION and loss of hunting/fishing for 5years. So I despise roadhunters!!!! We get "road-hunters" along our Land in NY, Yup, in full camo. Kinda busy paved road, I can see the old man asshat from Orange Co Choppers homes roof, about 2000yds away on a hill from my stand (I like to drive-by OCC asshats home and blast one of those airhorn dealys, he isnt well liked in the area hehehe)...The Land is posted heavy, folks know we will call DEC/State police, but they still ride up and down the road all day long. From my rifle stand I can see a curving part of the road, and a buddy can see a small area of the road where they turn around for another pass so we can see who is a roadhunter.... We have set out speakers next to the road to "speak' to them, taken photos and spread them around town to shame them, pointed lasers at them, followed them to Town and confronted them and we STILL have the same vehicles riding the roads... A never ending battle to keep them away... DEC is under-maned and over whelmed during deer season, it may be hours before they respond, local cops wont come unless shots are fired... Last year while setting up a deer drive for the younger hunters, the truck in front of us pulled into one of our fields, avoiding the posted sign in the center of the field enterance, parking next to a mud-hole, and out jumped a guy and his very young son, both in full camo, and started to "stalk" some does in the corner of the field... My buddy put his bumper against their bumper and pushed their truck into the mud-hole... We hopped out and told him to get his boney butt OFF our Land!!! Told him State Police and a tow-truck were on the way... He got the hint and didnt come back... Just another reason why I left my home state 35 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I dearly miss NY, NYC and LI. But I got to have my space. The Adirondack Wilderness is incredible as are the marshes of LI and the history of whaleing and the nautical life I lead all through my youth but the winters are harsh and long.

Still at Stage II as of this morning. Looks Prescott and Flagg will get some rain today. Monsoons are still 5 weeks away.
