If that's a 1/4x20 thread you can probably get a rod coupling used for threadded rod at Home Depot or Ace if you don't have a buddy who is in construction that's an electrician, plumber, fitter etc. Let me know if you can't find one and I mail you one. It's basically a 1/4 hex nut that/s 7/8" long.

Now that sounds like a conversation worth listening to.

I have always driven into an area to set up camp where there is enough space where I can roll out of my sleeping bag and walk out of the camp and start hunting and usually into an are that is either wilderness or has no roads into it so I can do my thing away from other hunters. A couple of times this wasn't possible and there were other hunters and upon one occasion a well know guide was camped across the road from me. I just walk into camp and ask where he, his posse and client will be hunting each day. Everyone has a different perspective on it and there is a lot of pressure that a guide put's on himself. From what I've seen there isn't much money to be made at it and I've done the math of both of the guided hunts I have been on. But both outfits were, in my opinion, top notch and both times it was just one on one which was fine for me as each time the ultimate goal for me was not filling the tag being the sole outcome of whether the hunt was a success or not but to learn, enjoy the pursuit and return home without breaking any bones or getting eaten. Sure, I would love to tag out on a record book animal on each hunt, who wouldn't. I've spent plenty of time wandering around during pre-season getting sunburned and blisters looking for sign and glassing but I don't begrudge the folks who set up trailcams or have ATV's because it's not my thing. A little respect and common sense is all most people need and I can tell you that we can do without more regulations.

Looking for a Vineyard or Winery Near Payson to ShowLow area--Crawfish Festival
PRDATR replied to Adicted's topic in The Campfire
Make sure you pre register for the crawfish, they are expecting to run out this year. I have not been to it but I was wondering about it last week while I was sitting on the bank at Woodscanyon Lake. I was wondering if they would run out. I'd hate to drive all the way up there for nothing plus I'd expect it to be expensive for what you would actually if they charge like $15 a plate. One thing I like about visiting my brother in South Louisiana is just sitting around the kitchen table with family drinking beer Louisiana Style. -

Why pollute Death Valley? Just drop them into Popocatepetl. -
That's a Jordan Deer, just getting some air. LOL That last bear looks like the porker that charged my truck this spring.

My gut feeling says no because once you meet your yearly quota of one deer the rifle tag becomes null and void. To me that's kinda like double dipping.

I haven't but this has been discussed on here a time or two.

I was thinking more along the line of having a Heli drop camp me. I doubt $1200 an hour is realistic, but I was wrong once a long time ago. I'd like to fly 32. It would save a lot of time behind the steering wheel if for no other reason then to see what condition the roads are in and how to get into different areas. GE is all fine and good but not up to date for finding H2O and you can only zoom down is so far in some areas.

Can we take up a collection and buy him a pair of Big Boy Pants?

Sounds good to me, since I have a deer tag for that area. I'm not looking forward to my fuel bills once scouting season starts.

Here is some info on this particular snake. I never doubt an old cowboy but I have had lots of different snakes as pets and non of them were pink after they shed the skin which can happen 2-3 times a year. http://www.reptilesofaz.org/Snakes-Subpages/h-c-mitchellii.html

I will probably heading that way next month. I'll be sure to post pictures.

Innocent children?

They were very active in AZ from about 2007-2010 but have been less visible since then and I have not seen as much graffiti. But that could all change with new eager recruits. http://www.abc15.com/news/region-central-southern-az/nogales/border-patrol-officials-concerned-about-child-immigrant-ties-with-ms-13-gang -

I don't expect prices to drop for a long time if ever. Once in a while you see them for 5 cents a round but most of the companies like Gander Mountain and Cabelas limit you to one box. I don't like seeing the unavailability either and I haven't even seen any at Walmart in forever. I live in Mesa and if I drive to Cabelas to buy some it costs me almost $20 in Diesel. Track realtime prices here. http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/rimfire/22lr/

Very cool, thanks for not killing it.

Yup. No reason to drag him through the dirt.

Glendale/Peoria got about an inch. The rest of the Valley averaged half of that or less. The thunder woke me up at about midnight and rain came soon thereafter. Could have been a lot more.
