Model 12 is my favorite pump. I have one that is close to 100 years old that has almost no blueing and another from 1953 that has a fancy stock and vent rib, they just fit me well.

I shot a 5x6 last year at 400 yards with a 7Mag. 160 gr Barnes, factory ammo. It went 15 feet. Shot one with a 160 Nosler Partition 10 years ago and dropped it right there. I and two other CWT Members witnessed a guy shoot a Raghorn at 885 yards with a 6.5 PRC and 147gr bullet that went maybe 25'. My son has killed two Cows with his Tikka 30-06, almost 20 years ago, one at 25 yards and one at 305 yards. He was 14 on the first one and 16 on the second one. Nosler Partitions both times. I also lost a 6x7 I hit high lung shot at about 300 yards with a 308 shooting 165gr Partition and lost a Cow shot with a 243 at 80 yards that broke the front leg below the shoulder but didn't leave hardly any blood to track.

Can these older Model 12's shoot steel shot?

Very good conditions for 2003's. Someone took good care of them.

To Stanley? Spammer Powleese? Truth Fairy?

A 3 1/2 hour drive for him may be too much. Catfish Kev is close to you and probably can recommend someone.

16? 30.06 How much does the rifle weigh? Remington makes a 125gr Core-Lokt that would be a good load to get him used to the added recoil of the 06. Make it a long range session, shoot a box through the 243 with half of the box off the bench the other half standing, then shoot half a box of 06 standing and the rest off the bench with the target at 50 yards.

I also put a KC on my 7.3 but needed to replace the factory filter with an big cylindrical AIS filter. I replaced the original flat pleated filter and box with the thick OEM filter and box but the bigger turbo was starving and pulled in the filter minder.

Good Luck. They run forever.

If you are 45 years or older you need to get checked every year. Both the DRE (AKA bend over, Digital Rectal Exam) with the glove by your Doc and have blood drawn and have the PSA (Prostrate-Specific Antigen) test done. Especially if you have occasional trouble peeing or get a sharp pain deep up in the butt sometimes. Caught early it can be treated by a lot of ways including removal, and a bunch of different types of radiation. If it goes unchecked eventually it will burst out of the prostrate into the lymph nodes, pelvic and spine bones, bladder, lungs and brain. It's not "The Good Cancer" or "Slow Growing". People do die from it all the time. 1 in 8 men will get it.

How about Desert Diesel in Wickenburg?

You need to add one or two of the leaves they don't "pop up". You pull the table from each end or one end to open up the middle then lay in a leave and push it closed very young don, LOL.

I never cared for 7828, thought it was too slow. Back off a little and keep it around 3000, that extra speed is negligble when it comes to bullet performance. I got better results with RL19.

Go in by Peppersauce, you won't need 4WD. You an camp in the campground and use it as a base camp then drive the road and look for places to jump off into.

Alan is the MAN! So it has the original bearings?

My father-in-law told me about it 25 years ago when I got some from him to put down around the house. Probably to kill some grass before my neighbor and his friends poured just over nine yards of concrete to widen my driveway. We would trade off work with people in the neighborhood to help each other out. A friend did some body work on my 78 GMC after I blew a front tire and the steel belt beat in the body and twisted the front bumper and I helped him repaint the whole truck and rewire his garage. Another neighbor who only ever had a swamp cooler for 35 years wanted to get an AC unit installed so I changed out his 100 amp fuse panel and put in a 200 amp breaker panel, added ground rods and helped him pull all the permits. He has been farming cotton, up to 3K acres since before I met him in 1980. His son made him retire a few years ago into his early 80's, 12+ hours a day 7 days a week. His son has been working side by side with him for well over 30 years and now takes care of it all. Most of the farm hands have been with them for as long as I can remember. Farmers work with a lot of chemicals and need to get training on them.
