Chin Guns and canted scope setups were popular in High Power Silhouette in the early 90's. But shots were only to 500 Meters and Tubbs was a phenominal shot who would typically center punch every chicken.

Have you looked at what is available for replacement parts like triggers and stocks for both? Both are on par with each other ballistically to the point that performance on game comes down to bullet selection.

I am going to go out on a limb and say he is shooting the Weatherby based on the grains of 4350 as the Win Mag would use less. I agree on using a slower powder and or playing with OAL but they like a bit of freebore. Do you have a chronograph? I would also ditch the sled. What does it shoot like with factory ammo?

If they have held up I would just keep them but I have never used them. I have only ever used leupold two piece bases or talley.

Twice I have used a TC/223 and twice a 357 revolver but I have heard of people using 9mm and 44 Magnum.

I have a first year stainless 700 ADL. Probably weighs more than a blue version. It sports a Zeiss scope and might be about 9 pounds. Wish it was closer to 7.

You can drill them out bigger then glue in dowels and redrill.

I have never seen one. A good visual inspection after they come out of the tumbler will let you see splits and sometimes the ring before the case seperates but I have never seen a case separation on anything other than 223/5.56 cases.

45-65 depending on the manufacturer of the action and what the stock manufacturer specs. Tikka is around 45 and Remington (Milspec) is 65. When I had a 700 action in an H&S stock I just used a T Handle and snugged them both up and it worked fine but this was a competition rifle.
