Sounds like you know the unit fairly well so it's no secret that every corner of it holds elk. Just go hunt it. When he gets one down post it up and if you need help packing it out a few will volunteer.

Barrel cleaning how often and accuracy
PRDATR replied to Paladin529's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Only thing I will add is anything that is not bio-degradeable will get absorbed through your skin and go to your liver. I hear guys say things like I use Hoppes No9 as aftershave but Sweets is some nasty, but effective, stuff. Pay attention to to your rifle and how cleaning works for it, everyone is different if you are a good enough marksman to take advantage of it and be consistent. -
GOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Did I just step into a 1985 time warp????? -
Happens. They are probably all facing north.

I hate going to the airport because they only sell that and Peets coffee. Both taste like burnt treebark and kerosene.

Not much of a cat fan either but this is a cool cat. https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2014/may/15/cat-saves-boy-from-dog-attack-video

Great deal on the perfect caliber. -
Looks like one I came across in Unit 29 years ago, which also burned down.

Why are these still for sale? If I didn't already a pair I'd buy these.

They have always been my go to primer.

I used to do some construction project with a Super who said his brother ran cattle up there and i think they had a family ranch up there years ago. He used to guide for Coues and had his own outfit. I don't think he still does it since he bought a good sized ranch in Mexico and it had been a few years since we have talked but I remember him bringing in racks on occasion that went over 110 ans this was in the 80's and 90's. I always wanted to go but at the time he was getting more for a hunt then guides are charging now and there was no way I could do that.

Years ago my son and I rented a room in the lodge at Hannigan Meadow and there was a book written by I believe some local women that had a short excerp about the attack.

Those poppers were a nice surprise chef. Thanks Adam. -
Are they more desireable than Magpul?

I'll probably never get rid of mine even though I haven't reloaded in over a decade. When did they start using plastic? For competition and most hunting loads I always used a trickler to get an exact amount of powder.

I don't see why not. They can always run the number and verify it and the other information. I have not seen anything that would say it isn't ok.

Awesome, that smile says it all.
-
Yes it is, and that is a dandy Antelope.

Take picture and keep it on your phone.
