Ordered a 65 yesterday and got the shipping label confirmation, just waiting for it to update. I'm thinking Monday delivery or Tuesday and I'm having it shipped to my work. Still going to keep my big Coleman which has wheels and a slideout handle. It kept block ice for a week no problem last week in Mexico but it was at freezing almost every night and still has ice on my back porch with my Coues in it. It's at least a 65.

Jay Scott Outdoors NEW Website
PRDATR replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
I heard they took a 140+ buck in Mexico last week. -
I have a 700 ADL in 7 Mag I bought in the early 90's when Remington first offered a plastic stocked stainless rifle. Last week I hunted with a couple of guys who also had 700's and had Bell and Carlson stocks on them which weighed quite a bit less than my rifle and had a better balance. So on my quest to change the stock it dawned on me that I should also go from ADL to BDL. Where should I begin my search for the bottom metal?

I like it, so the kit comes with a 4 round mag? -

They are nice but I can't justify the cost. -
Question about going from ADL to BDL

One was a 300 Win Mag BDL, stainless so pretty comparable to what I have and it was noticeably lighter and both rifles had B&C stocks. -
Federal 215 primer super tight in new brass and one real bad
PRDATR replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have mostly always used CCI BR Primers and used a primer pocket uniformer tool on new brass and never had a problem. -
I'll be there in mid January.

Just came back today from a new ranch. Very rough DIY hunt on this property. Meat in the freezer though. We went 4 for 5.

I was talking to my youngest sister today and she was thinking we siblings should do something special for my youngest brother (I'm the oldest) when he turns 60 next year. He lives in Louisiana (poor bastid) and fishes all the time. The Red in my avatar was caught on his center console. So I suggested we take him to Cabo or Mazatlan. WTF, at our age every day is a blessing if you know what I mean. His wife of almost 30 years passed away on 1/22/16 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 11 months before. Did I mention he loves to fish? I visit for a week or so about every six months so I thought, what would be better than a fishing trip in February next year, all expenses paid. I just need to arrange the time off with his bosses wife now that she is running the business after Doug passed away last from cancer that came back after 20 years which is how long my brother has worked there. Crappy hand all around. It would nice to spring it on him but he doesn't have a passport so I will set it all up then a couple of months before tell him about it so he can get a passport. Is Cabo better than Mazatlan? There may be 10 or 12 of us so maybe renting a house would be better than a motel. Looking for recommendations.

That guy and his family are now in hiding.

We only used a few bullets to sight in and retention was 90%.

Couldn't be any worse than when they built Palo Verde.

My brother just got one last year and really likes it, but he is a die hard Dodge guy. I rented one last year for a week and it was fine, tons of power. The only really thing that was odd was the shifter is just a round dial on the dash.

I used my 22-250 (after cutting the stock down) on the Jr Kaibab hunt for both my kids about 15 years ago and they both took a doe. I can check but I am pretty sure they were Federal with 55gr Trophy Bonded bullets, one at about 40 yards and one about 200. I used to work with a guy in the 80's and 90's and that's all he ever used.

How many shots does a barrel burn out
PRDATR replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
A friend and I used to shoot a lot of HP Silhouette and then he transferred out of state. One year he sent me his rifle so he would have to fly with it. I was at the range waiting for him to show and decided to clean it for him. It was dirty but in a short time the patches went from black to very light gray. As I was sitting there a huge dust devil dropped in before I could throw a towel over his rig. It left as quick as it showed up but the dust was on everything so I lubed up another patch and ran it down the tube. To my surprise it came out dark. I ran a few more down before it cleaned up and then decided to look down the barrel and saw a dark bore with little rifling in the first six or so inches. That rifle still shot very well though despite it. The rifle was a #1 in 25-06. -
Nice.

Bushnell in 36B about 3 years ago.

Awesome cause. I have terrible luck with raffles so the Gofundme is perfect.

Looks pretty good, welcome aboard. Chris

Lactose intolerant here so I stopped eating ice cream about 2003.

I was also wondering about that but haven't heard much.

What's Your Fitness Focus? 2017 Day One - Let's Make This Hunting Year Fitter than Last
PRDATR replied to Healy Arms's topic in Hunting Fitness
Try Casa Rosa on Main St just east of downtown. It's not your typical stuff, more varied in flavors, variety and very tasty definitely my favorite place hands down and ingriedents are very fresh. -
I just made the switch from regular to decaf in an attempt to lower my BP and bought a fitbit and BP monitor. I try to eat a piece of fruit a day, apple or pear, Dannon Triple Zero Yougurt 4x a week. Oatmeal late morning during the week and cherrios on the weekend sometime with blueberries. A few years ago I completely cut out soda, chips, cookies, candy frozen or canned veggies. After work snack is a handful of raw almonds, once in a while trailmix or jerky. Dinner is usually grilled chicken or maybe salmon or ahi with grilled or steamed veggies or once in a while whole wheat/grain spaghetti or Jasmine Rice with curry powder and tumeric. Fresh garlic eaten about 6 days a week at dinner either grilled or crushed and chopped in the veggies or on the meat/fish dish. I am going to cutback on red meat, pork and lamb and will try to only eat meat at dinner, although on the weekends I get hungry in the early afternoon and snack on canned mackeral or sardines but I read the sodium content because some sardine offerings can be rediculously high. I also never use sugar or salt and a dozen eggs can last me two months. I do use quite a bit of olive oil, California Olive Ranch as it had very high ratings but I have read that the Spanish Olive Oils usuall take the top awards every year. When I have stuffed bell peppers I go to Sprouts and get bulk chicken sausage, mix in an egg, little olive oil, tumeric, cooked rice or Italian Bread Crumbs and sometimes Vietnamese Fancy Cinnamon from Penzys Spices in Tempe Marketplace which is a lighter more menthol clean tasting cinnamon. I'm sure I left out a bit but this gives you a general idea.
