It's getting deep. LOL Seriously thought I have to apologize to Casey for bustin on him. I had a few too many Tecate's last night. -
The One I took just had "nubs" maybe 1/2", same as the two Merrimans I have taken here in AZ. The other hunter I was with also took a Goulds and it also had smallish ones about the same size. Both birds were probably 20 pounds+ but I didn't weigh mine, maybe he did.

I know.... Your wife has been BEGGING me to take her! Ha! You could never ever fill those shoes. Taylor Swift as squirrely as she is is is way beyond your league. Stick to Justin Bieber. -
Look at Target too.

.7dgF is pretty good accuracy over such a wide range.

Eco Diesel? Sounds like an F-150 will suit your needs. No reason to step up into an F-250 unless you want the room and seat of the pants power.
-
Stick with it and you'll eventually get into them.
-
That's because they were over cooked.

It's the largest of the turkeys and only found in a couple of places in AZ & NM and the majority of the population is in Mexico.

Best to age it. I never tried to make that cut since venison and even Elk is so lean.

Juvenile birds have no red. -
It doesn't hurt to throw an extra pair in your backpack. I prefer to use socks made by SmartWool, pricey but they will last for years especially if you don't put them in the dryer and even if wet they will keep your feet warm. If they do get wet you can take them off and hand wring them out and get about 80% of the water out and they retain their loft.

I have one and it shoots great. I did replace the factory trigger with a Rifle Basix.

Any Sign of Rut Activity for Archery Hunt in Southern Az?
PRDATR replied to azbullelkman's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Just check to see which outfitter lives in that area and petitioned the game and fish regarding the closed season in Dec and shortened season in Jan. Or have them change it so an outfitter can only hunt a unit every other year. -
Tis The Season. Right?
-
You should have stayed put. The animals are used to activity.
-
It has been that way since I started hunting in the 80's and you could get two tags in 29.
-
Cool buck, congrats.

Offered to bojangles pending pick up this week.

I had a group of 10 come past me up in Queen Valley last year tearing it up. Each driver had goggles and a bandana to keep out the dust, didn't look like much fun to me. I did come across two guy who had just bought one and flipped it up on it's side on the maiden voyage. I used my tow strap to right it. It was in a big flat area so they were probably doing brodies. They were smart and had their seatbelts and helmets on.

That's too bad he had a great run. PC stinks it took my SIL last year and a friend a few years ago.

The first Javelina I ever shot was with a TC in 223 at about 40 yards. It knocked it off it's feet and it never got up. That was about 30 years ago so my guess is your bullet didn't expand. I also took one two years ago with an AR at about 70 yards but shot it twice. I have used archery, 223, 22-250, 243, 357 and 7-08 (100gr). This year I will use 10mm on the HAM hunt and a new Axis in 243 shooting 55gr Ballistic Tips.
