Shot this last weekend. Factory trigger set to 3#'s, 25 year old rifle. Looking to find a place this weekend where I can see how it does at 400-600 before I leave for Sonora.

I would be all over this if I already didn't have a hunt in Sonora the same week. I'd be interested in just the Javi hunt.

I bought a new tripod and went with a different head. I am selling the head that came with the tripod. It is a 496RC2 and it comes with the plate for $40. Head is brand new, just got this today. https://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-496RC2-Release-Replaces-486RC2/dp/B002N5NRSC Chris 602-499-06one0

I have had both and reloaded for both but primarily have shot the 7Mag since the early 90's and have taken bear, deer, caribou and elk from 20 yards to about 300 with no complaints. It will shoot 2" groups with factory HSM at 300 yards.

How old is that Active?

I've never heard of that being a problem.

I have the Optics Pack and while overall it has been good the front buckles do not grip the belt very well at all and it loosens up after just 100 yards or so and then all the pack weight is on the shoulders. I find myself constantly readjusting the belt all day long. I ordered a pair of these to put on which will hopefully solve that issue. https://www.buckleguy.com/4127-2-sliplock-tri-glide-buckle-plastic-slider/

Cornmeal black powder filler
PRDATR replied to buckman888's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Well that should fill the cylinder up quite a bit, how many grains are you using and what do the reloading manuals recommend? I haven't owned a BP firearm but I have read that sometimes people would use a filler in cartridges if they were using a very fast powder like Unique of say 5 grains in a case that had a capacity of say 20 grains to keep the powder close to the primer to avoid pressure spikes. -
$800 to $1250.

I'm going in 12 days with a buddy and we may bring both back, god willing.

Vertical deer dimensions for gap shooting?
PRDATR replied to Bucks&Brews's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I think Bass Pro has a full mount Coues, I may go over and measure it. The one time I did have a tape in my pack I measured the Coues I shot, that's where I came up with the 36". -
Post a few pictures.

Cornmeal black powder filler

So, cap and ball? Are you using FFFF? -
What are you having trouble with, the crimping?

I'm surprised you don't reload.
