The old dam was masonary and crumbling so back in the late 80's the Bureau of Reclamation put out a contract to reinforce it with concrete which required it to be raised 23 meters which also increased the span. It increased the lake capacity by roughly 20%. If it were to be allowed to fill to the brim everything as far as Jakes Corner would probably be under water. I worked on the project for the last two years which took longer than expected and was millions over budget. The project only had one fatality toward the end and OSHA shut it down for a few days. I don't know if either spillway have been used as the lake has only been to capacity once about 10 years ago. So yes 3' from full is a long ways from the top of the dam.

I was just talking to my nephew on Long Island and we talked about we would like to see a side by side comparison each day of Flu cases, which we deduced probably won't happen. Tim, I might have to do that. I had a doctor visit this morning and he said I can start standing and putting pressure on the ankle and the xray looked good. So this week I will start doing that and the following week I can start to walk on it as long as I keep the boot on. So probably in two weeks I should be able to wear shoes again. Slowly getting there.

Well we all have "Cabin Fever".

No. I'm pretty low maintenance anyway. My son took me grocery shopping on Saturday for some food but I'm OK with essentials like TP. When one of my brothers was here two weeks ago I bought a 12 pack of TP which will last me a couple of months. I gave the neighbors a couple of rolls since they are both retired, have COP and were down to their last two. My son is in Flagg this week for work and will be back on Friday. I am wearing a boot and will probably need to keep off of my foot for another four weeks or so and have been working from home.

Brian I'd gladly do it on Tuesday for some Brats on Wednesday. But, I'm still not up and around yet.
