Well Westport was suggested by a few people on the So CAL Long Range Facebook page I am on. We don't need a lot of amenities and just go with the flow. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'll look into Illwaco and LB.

He wants to do Salmon. I thought we might stay for a few days and maybe also do Albacore since it's been decades since we caught them out of San Diego. Also maybe bottom fish for Ling Cod and Halibut. We just joined the Westport Sportfishing page on FB to get a feel for the area and fishing conditions. We've done a few multiday overnight trips out of San Diego and Mag Bay but the conditions look a bit rougher out of Westport. We might need to get some gear to keep us dryer.

Good to hear back. Those units are beautiful and can be feast or famine. I don't get a chance much to travel to hunt but I do try to do so to fish, which was my first love. I've been looking at Westport as the next possible trip with my adult son.

I have not heard of it or seen it mentioned on the So.Cal. Long Range Fishing FB Page. I would ask about it on there it is a very active page. The Tomahawk just came in with limits for 28 + crew on a 1.5 day.
