    Bucket List: Caribou

Never had it mounted. A friend of a friends brother lived there and we flew into Anchorage, his wife picked us up and we slept at their house. Got up went out to some touristy place for breakfast then to Costco. We then flew to Unalakleet and met his brother and since there were locals using the miners cabin we were going to hunt from his friend, a well known local guide, had his wife meet us at the airport and we took all our gear back to their house. Then he let us use his boats and we headed about 7 miles up the Unalakleet River and stayed a couple of days at Vances cabin that he built years before after buying 40 acres from the tribe. There we met a couple of his hunters from Germany and fished for Silvers, Dollies and Grayling for a couple of days before heading back to Unalakleet. We were going to flyup to Caribou camp but it was too windy so we stayed at Vances house, on the beach, with his wife and daughter before finally flying up to hunt late the next day. We all tagged out the following day and flew back a day later. We didn't see any bears on the hunt but I did have a Musk Ox walk past me at about 50 feet. I thought they would be bigger. We stayed everywhere for free and only real cost while there was to put gas back in the boats we used to fish from. I was gone for 9 days and my total cost for my tag, three resturant meals including the bush plane was $1,650.

    Crappie

Yeah but most of all of them are usually small. Look back a couple of posts and you will see what I mean. I bet 90% of the ones caught are kept by the average person who just goes once a year. By the time you fillet one of those it's like eating a potato chip.

    Blame Canada

Maybe depending on how much the Canadian Government is going to reimburse them for guns that are turned in. Canadians can sell guns to a US citizen via an FFL provided the FFL fills out the import form and the seller completes an export form. Gun ownership in Canada is higher than people here think.

    Glock 22 Gen 3

I don't know about the Gen 3 but with the G2 you can drop in a 357 SIG barrel and be GTG or buy a 9mm barrel drop it in and get a G17 or 19 mag with no need to buy another slide.

PVR Cow elk in Oct. unit 10

Hunt the Bo. Pay the entry fee. The whole unit has been overhunted because of too many tags but there are still elk there and really no secret spots. Scout your tail off.

    Bucket List: Caribou

This was from a trip I was invited on when anther guy's wife nixed his trip in 1996. We killed these about 120 miles east of Nome. We flew into Anchorage, then to Unalakleet where we spent a few days upriver at a guys cabin fishing. Then back to Unalakleet where we spent the night waiting for the wind to subside. It finally did in the evening and Jim Tweto flew everyone up in the plane in the picture. He came back just about sunset and he and I flew up in some old 1940's twin engine with all the gear including two ATV's coolers etc landing just at dusk.

    Bucket List: Caribou

It's just not the same day so you can land at 11PM and hunt in the morning. The herds were big back in the early to mid 90's.

    Legality of Orders

There was a snippet this week about it on NPR and your daughters case is very common and most states, other than California, are close to two months behind in getting benefits out due to the lack of manpower and the sheer amount of claims being filed.
  14. I was in line at the Credit Union in Mesa and they flew over at 3:20. Was kinda cool.

    AZ DL Replacement

I just was going over some chiller programming with my tech and he says, oh yeah I have your wallet. I must have thought it was mine on the table and picked it up and put it in my computer bag. LOL

    AZ DL Replacement

Well it looks like the DMV is replacing their computer System and I need to get a replacement as I lost my wallet. Does anyone know someone who works for DMZ that might know when it will be back up and running?

    AZ DL Replacement

I don't they pull people over until you are 30+ days out, usually. You can go up to 90 days before they are due. I usually go get the emissions done the month before.

    Yes it does.
  24. Horseshoe is at 96% which is something I haven't seen in a long time and Roosevelt is at 89%. I would expect SRP to let some water out of Granite Reef in a couple of weeks if the next storm dumps more rain into the surrounding areas.

    Effects of the virus scare?

About a year or more ago I was at Usery and a guy had one with a 10" barrel and let me shoot it. It was not a lot of room on the grip to use two hands so I had one hand on the grip and another on the forearm. Even with a scope and muzzle break it was tough for me to shoot accurately.
