I don't remember what year it was but a storm dumped so much snow people couldn't get RV's and campers out and had to leave them up there for the whole winter.

Not many bucks until the weather gets cold and the snow pushes them down. Same thing every year.

I am going to head out in the morning to try some new spots between Rye and Payson that I have been eyeing the last few years. -

I picked up some free old powder

I think I still have some left. Powders like T-5010, 20 and 70's were very slow burning, It was quite a ride from the east valley to go get some. The 8202 was pretty popular. -
I have lived here since the mid 70's and this is the driest year I can remember. Here in Mesa we have only gotten 4.21" and most of that was in February and March with just .45" during the monsoon.

Might be the biggest buck of his life. Looking forward to his first solo hunt when he is old enough to apply everything he has learned thus far. -
Great story, congrats. Is that a Tikka?

Congrats on the success. My first was born when I was 36 so I already had plenty of patience by then and the kids were out camping by the time they were old enough to walk. Whether we were hunting or fishing when they got bored or would rather do something else I let it go. I always felt it was a win/win just to be out with them. It's tuff for them to stay focused and I could never see the reasoning in pushing it on them. It was never about the kill, as well it should be unless they want it to be but our own ego's sometimes take over and the kids get hyped up on trying to "get it done" and not be a failure.

From their FB page posted 6 hrs ago. CCSO has ordered an evacuation between Knoll Lake & Bear Canyon Lake off FS300 due to fire in Horton Spring area west of Promontory Butte. If in the area, EVACUATE NOW. If you need assistance, call 911. UPDATE: it is now 80% contained. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7241/

Great video. That looks a lot like an area I used to hunt in 29.

Jail time and heavy fines might put a crimp on your style. Then there is loss of employment, failure to make mortgage payments etc.
