Used the salt free version tonight when I fried some gray squash.

What are you using to season them?

It really does not have a distinct flavor and just like calamari it can be very tender or chewy. It is best grilled when it is fresh. This started out with a dried mild chili that I took off the top then put it in water to hydrate. Then into a pot of hot water for 15 minutes and brought it up to just about to where it would start to boil then took it out. Put it in a blender with three cups of the water on the lowest setting for 10 minutes with a teaspoon of kosher salt and about two tablespoons of EVO. Then I added it back into the pot of water with about a teaspoon of chicken broth made by Better Than Bouillon (In a jar from Walmart) and kept it on low while I cut some thick slices of the biggest carrot I could find. I took out a pablano, four tomatoes and half an ear of corn and let them soak in the sink full of water for 30 minutes before grillin them. In the mean time I thawed out some shrimp and the octopus. I added two bay leaves and a petal of anise and 1/2 teaspoon of Smokin Racha hot sauce from Puckerbutt Pepper Company (I buy it online) into the pot and let it meld for 20 minutes before tasting it so the flavors can start to come together and build. I grilled the pepper to a char then put it in a plastic bag to sweat turning the corn to get some color on it. Tomatoes are tricky and need to be attended to turning them so they get a slight char but don't burst. Once the octopus was thawed I picked out the small to medium pieces and shelled the shrimp. The "broth had been cooking for about an hour by now and was "getting there" but I added some more salt and hot sauce. Maybe a 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of hot sauce. Now I added the carrots and brought it up to a simmer for about 15 minutes until the carrots were tender enough to be able to stick a fork in them but still firm. Now I sliced the corn off the cobb and took the charred skin off the poblano and pulled of the seeds and chopped it into 3/8" in pieces and added half of it in. I peeled and deveined the shrimp and put them in the fridge to stay cold. I took the shrimp shells and put them in a pot of water, brought to a boil and took them off the stove and let it sit for 10 minutes. Strained it and added the stock into the pot of veggies. I let it simmer for 10 minutes or so then added the octopus and brought the temp back up. At this point the octopus was done so I cut the tomatoes into pieces, added them and the whole shrimp and let it sit for five minutes until the shrimp were cooked. I also added in 1/2 a medium Gray Squash when I put in the octopus that I sliced about 1" thick and then quartered each slice.

Times change. CWT has been liberated, just be happy and go with the flow.

I saw one probably 30 years near Pine Grove Campground. It didn't stick around for pictures.

I love CFS. Making a meatloaf tonight. 1 pound ground pork, 1 pound ground elk. Onions, bacon fat, hatch chili's, two eggs, 1/4 cup italian bread crumbs, fresh thyme. Mixed it up and put it in the fridge for two hours. Took it out and made a canoe then put in some queso quesadilla shredded cheese. Put it in a 12x12 aluminum pie dish with chopped onions and chilis on both sides topped with VanCamps Pork and Beans. Been in the R2D2 Brinks Smoker at 175/200dgF for 90 minutes and has maybe another hour to go. I will finish it off in the oven. FYI, Food City has 10# bags of Russet Potatoes for $1.29.

Hearing protection for the shot?

I had a pair of foam molds made maybe 20 years ago and use when when possible. -
It's not like he is condoning them.

I have a 10x14 and it is just right for two people although I usually am solo. I have a heavy duty truckers tarp I put under it. It was like $200 but well worth it.

Your go to shooting platform?
PRDATR replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Looking back I'd say 80% of my kill shots on game were done shooting offhand from a standing position when game just appeared and there was less than 10 seconds to make the shot. Others were done from a sitting position including a black bear, one coues and one javelina. Farthest shot was maybe 300 yards on a mule deer just below Table Mesa and that was offhand and standing. I have only shot off Trigger Sticks once in 2022 when I killed a small 6x6 at 400 yards. I can't remember a single time where it would have been feasible to pull off the shot lying prone whether due to the terrain, bushes and grass in the way or or the animal well above or below the line of sight. -
3 second GOOGLE search. Mark Kelly + Baby Seal

That is because they stopped people from sharing password. LOL

Or maybe it's because he doesn't clang when he walks. I'd much prefer an "in your face" politician. Somebody that actually sets out to have a goal. Even if it's just get me elected so I can do this and then walk away. He is "milk toast". A skirt rider. I'm not sure why he is even there other than to collect a paycheck. He certainly hasn't done anything notable for he citizens of AZ.

From what I've read he is way down the list and Shapiro is high up there although from a PR standpoint Kelly has more name recognition and being a former astronaut doesn't hurt.

He was under pressure from all sides and it has been in the works for a while. I posted on FB on the 4th that it was a matter of weeks. As usual I fell short. Latest poll with Dem voters were 65% in favor of him dropping out. He just needed to let it build to a crescendo so he could save face and let it be known there was only one way out before the convention. The whole Dem Ticket is now up for grabs and I don't see Harris on it. Yeah, yeah, yeah she is the VP and as most VP's never do much as to not out shadow the POTUS. A pretty thankless position although it would appear one would have carte blanche to "tear it up". I imagine a VP is given a play card of do's and don'ts, ceremonies to attend and the occasional baby to kiss in a third world country. Either way they have a month to pull it together. Good thing Billary isn't involved or there would be a slew of "unexplained casualties" making the headlines.
