2x7 Leupold. It can handle being bumped or dropped. It's not a case of "if" but "when". That is what I put on my son's rifle at that age or you can get a fixed 4X with plenty of eye relief. From what I have heard the Vortex's do not hold up well being bumped.

Easy caliber to reload for, very forgiving I used to load everything from 100 to 168 gr.

Sometimes it take 3-4 months for their eyes to change color. -
Foxes like rock out croppings, ravines, canyons etc anywhere they can have a quick escape from a coyote.

It's none of that but since this is 2021and a full moon I guess the question needs to be asked but you'll never find the answer on here if there is one whether you draw blood or paint it on a canvass or the wall of a cave.
