Well this meeting was strictly addressing the camp grounds, facilities etc in tonto nat'l forest and along the salt river lakes, bascally there's no revenue to maintain all the sites, they have come up with a few options to resolve like sell out to private firm to manage it all, raise price of public permits, partner shipping with local clubs and organizations to help managethe sites. The most votes in the Basin went towards increasing fees to keep everything, and partnership with local orgs. They were also taking comments on improvements that need to be done and changes that need to be made. The travel management was not open for discussion at this meeting and the next meeting is currently not scheduled but I can say they are going to pretty much mimic Coconino's changes. The proposed draft map is currently available on their website and it shows all changes that are going to be made.

There is a meeting in Tonto Basin tonight I will be attending and another at Roosevelt Fri afternoon. Then Young is the last one I believe. I tried to attach the map but to large of a file. I will post info and comments from tonights meeting on here over the weekend. The public really needs to step up and e-mail or respond with their concerns in writing before the deadlines mentioned in attachment or don't complain when the changes go thru. Rumor is also closure of primitive camp sites at salt river lakes, removal of designated sites and or even private company taking over and managing designated camp sites with increased fees. $900,000 budget shortfall and a 5.5 million dollar cost to maintain basically means closure of some facilities this could include boat ramps. Replacing the rear axles and entire rear suspension bearings, bushings etc on my 2001 Polaris 500 right now and I found you can get all OEM parts a lot cheaper shopping around on the internet and doing all the labor yourself. I choose this route cause (I don't have enough toys) and most the dealer shops wanted $105.00 labor and parts were marked up more than 20% in some cases. Ebay, polarispartsmonster.com, cheapcycleparts.com, babbitts online.com, atvpartsconnection.com, just to mention a few all similar prices. The front axle that looks broke in your photo I would try ebay you can get the entire assembled shafts ready to go on and there are a lot of models avaialble at decent prices. Also all these sites allow you to print out the entire parts schematics (entire assembly) for what ever section of the Polaris your working on. And that makes it extremely easy to put back together. Shooting a .50 cal TC Encore bought new for Bull elk a few years ago and never took any shots at the bulls we were after. So now I am thinking on using it for my Nov WT tag. I know someone on here can provide me some good recommendations on what gr bullet and powder load to use in order achieve some good distance and stopping power. Thanks in advance for your help, Dan

Mrscoues, thats cool I just went AK in august n drove back from anchorage.Our fishing trip was cancelled in seward night before trip. but the wildlife and scenery was unbelievable. Looks like you guys had a great time, thanks fo sharing.:

Archery, HAM or Gen?

Re-opened at 2 am this morning. A special thanks to the highway patrol officer that escorted us to 4 peaks turnoff instead of going around apache trail or Globe route. Made for a fun drive over four peaks going home yesterday.

Thats good news. Both you remain strong. I went thru two surgeries and 7 months chemo and beat Stage 4 Colorectal cancer. they know what to do these days.

Believe it or not when I was in high school we used to pick jojoba beans for 50 cents a pound out by lake pleasant we never made more than 11.00 dollars a dayand never did find out what the guy made from the himself off them. We eventually found out rattlesnakes were worth more back then now 25 years later I have tons of beans at my house. Anyone ever made coffee out of them we dry roasted some a few years ago and they were kinda bitter but you can survive off them even plain. : thinking maybe we can sort of corner the starbucks market with jojoba coffee for the java junkies

we roasted some in the oven and salted and they are good, little bitter.
