Help me name my new dog!
Dan H replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Cool dog Amanda , but if your dog is that quiet name he Callate which is Spanish for shut up. Plus it has a desert ring to it pronounced kinda like coyote Plus you will never have to tell her shut up, Dan -
Always makes you wonder why every year you see people with field photos and then later photos at home with the deer still not skinned. That can't taste good. Unless you literally only have to walk out your back door to shoot it. To me there isn't enough meat on deer especially coues to go to a processor. It's easier to bone them out on the spot, no gutting involved , and clean and process the meat at home in the kitchen. Dan

Same thing every time a change is proposed or made. Why do so many act so shocked? Everyone had an oppurtunity to go to the AZGFD meeting a few months back and voice their opinion. Most users were probably sent an e-mail reminder from the AZGFD as well. 14 people showed up in Mesa, it should have been 1400. Dan

I have a BlueFord F350 but it wasn't me. And my sticker is a smaller one in the lower passenger side of rear window. So for all the recently adopted blue ford hunters don't flip me off thinking I shoot on Lark. I'll hack up a big old lugeee and just aim using windage at 75 mph in the passing lane. Eeeeehhhh! Dan

Josh, you really should have put him in an "Orange" shirt for the shed huntin trips? Cool kid! Dan

Went to the Mesa meeting and only about 14 people showed up??????? People are really going to need to send their comments thru the mail and internet to make the slightest difference here. Buck to doe ratio is looking at being reduced to increase the number of tags that can't be good. There was some good concern about deer and elk poulations, and increased opportunity for kids, but it really sounds like the surveys they take are the deciding factors in all the departments decisions. Quantity over quality is where it's going. I was really expecting more people to show up. What happened to everyone from this site? I left with the same opinion I've had for quite some time now, if I want to hunt deer or elk. I'd be better off trying for the high quantity draws and continue to pack it in miles to make it a quality hunt. Dan

Mike, Question #1, I have a Ragen 30.5' fifth wheel with built in generac 3000 and it won't start it keeps turning over and red light flashes? How do you reset it? It has some codes 3 flashes or 4 flashes? Does it have to be plugged in to the box inside compartment where the plug cable is? Hate to have to tow it all the way to Mesa fom Roosevelt. Thanks in advance, Dan

Gino, your right I was thinking early bull was the archery didn't realize they had a rifle early bull in 23 this year. 23 Archery south is only been allowed a few times over the years. Thats what I didn't draw. See what happens when you don't read the entire post. I Feel like a dip shoot. Still a dang good tag he has. Dan

Hunt low in the cedars. Buzzards Roost A few years back it was believed the next world record would come from there. That makes 6 people I know got 23 tags. That was my 1st choice Lucky! Dan

"Idiot" New Mexico Game and Fish

I've put infor the burro mtns couple years in a row and don't think this year will be any more promising after the Az elk/ant draw zero results. Anyone on here recommend a more promising chance of draw on the western side of new mexico for deer and elk? I was gonna try the 23 except burros and 22 or 24's, with higher tag numbers. Suggestions? No offense but. It looks like you ran them over with a quad. -
That's an awesome pic. Look how close that one dog is in the second picture. I remember the game and fish had pics of a few from trail cams a few years back at night on h20 holes. Nothing compared to these photo's. Dan

I have the ATS 65 and is is plenty good enough for long range size determination and works out great for pictures. I also have two of the doublers and never use them any more. Go with a scope you won't use the doublers enough at all. Dan

What unit did he find it in? Dan

Said goodbye to a dear old friend yesterday.....
Dan H replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Amanda, sorry to hear that. Here is a picture of my old boy had him for 14.4 years,we lost him 2 years ago, on Jan 5th. Strangely enough he passed on on the same date that my dad did. That dog followed me so many miles. In the end he was like a silverback gorilla. Dan
