I use the Leupold 8.5-25X50 LRT on my 300RUM . I can shoot 1000 yrds with it and see target pretty well, for the money it's a really good piece of glass. I have had alot of high end scopes but for the money this Leupold is hard to beat.

22 has been my favorit unit for a long time , just tuffer to hunt these days with all the deer and elk tags that fish and game give for the unit I wish they would cut back on the 22N bull elk tags, and the coues deer tags, I rember when 22N & 22S used to be combined as one on the Dec bull elk hunt with about 200 tags and the rifle coues deer hunt was a Dec hunt only with around 170 tags , compare that to todays number of tags and they have 3 times that amount of tags today. With that said we killed 12 coues from 90" to 120" in the past 8 years and filled are tages every time and 3 bull elk from 300 to 368 . Just get to now it and get out away from were you can get any moterised vehicle and glass.

Thats a nice Buck. What he score? -
I have KDF on all mine and they do help never used any others . I took a 76 year old man out on a bull elk hunt last year who was having a hard time with the recoil from his 300 Win Mag no break. I told him I would bring my 300RUM not to worry ,he shot his 6X6 bull 419 yards, this was his first time ever shooting my rifle one shot kill and was surprised with the recoil . He compared the kick to a 243, and has since put one on his 300 Win. Hope this helps

Thanks, you should buy it . LOL

I started with a Remington 700 SPS 300 RUM 26" barrel new $489, took it my gun smith and had him get to work on it he put a KDF break, Timney trigger , lapped the bolt and barrel , this cost me $600, i purchased a Leupold VXIII 8.5-25x50 LRT $800, Leupold rings and bases $65, haris by pod $95. Im shooting factory ammo Remington 180 scirocco power level III and getting a 5" group at 500 yards and gun seems to get tighter the more i shoot it. I have a buddy hand loading me up some 185 berger and am thinking of going with a H-S Precision stock not sure on stock yet gun is a tack driver right now and dont want to mess with it any more with the performance im getting already i belive in dont fix it if it ant broke or something like that. I also have 3 other REM 700 rifles set up the exact same way 22-250, 257 Weatherby , 260 Remington and are tack drivers as well. So for around $2000 you can build you something like this and be very happy with it and not have to wait months for a barrel or a custom build , dont get me wrong i have spent big money on rifles before that shoot really well but after spending time with a good budy of mine that is a gun smith he told me to buy the cheepist Remington 700 26" 300 RUM I could find new and he would save me a bunch of money and I would be suprised how well the gun he builds would shoot. Im very happy with my rifles and have since sold a custom rifle I hade made a few years ago and built the 3 other rifles this way with the money I made off of the custom.

Ive seen a few good speed goats tward apache maid and east of camp verdy,i spend some time in 6a every year and have seen one particular buck 4 years in a row now, has to be close to 90" this year i uasily put in for 10 but figured i would try to draw a 6a tag . Im not that lucky. Good luck and hope this helps.

thats so true, there is good bucks in any of those units , its all about spending time and getting to know one of the ones you posted so probily pick the one you live closest to.

Is this going to be a yearly event?

I would agree with the BFG KO if your running a half ton or smaller thats all I buy for my Toyota and Jeep and they get me all over AZ back roads. If you have a 3/4 ton or bigger i would have to say Toyo MT thats a 10 ply I run those on my duramax and there a great tire if you keep them rotated.
