    RV 101

Hope this is still active. I have a 2006 28' Sandpiper toyhauler. My rear beds have a gear mechanism that was made out of nylon and 2 of the teeth have sheared off. I have gotten a quote to replace the gears. $580. from the dealer and a quote to have the gear made from a machinist $450. I do not know the maker of the beds. Got any ideas, I thought about having the gear made in aluminum to strengthen it, or can the nylon be made in a stronger compound? Have you seen this often and would it be benificial to make multiple and sell??? Lots of questions

My 10yr olds first Big Game Hunt

WOW! WOW! WOW! Salt to the wound. Some of you would do good to to take a lesson from Thumper. "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." I get the point, but now I cannot let my son read these post because it has turned into an attack. It was posted to show your youth, an opportunity to show right, wrong, ethincs and whatever else you could learn from it. I did not have to tell this story and could have left out many details and you would only have been able to say good job to my son. I choose not to. As far as the fines and confiscation of animals. I expected it. It is great that you are not my Judger for you have no Grace but will want it one day. I have accepted the resposability. I cannot change what happened. My son should and will not be the one to pay for this. John 8:7(look it up)

    .270 wsm or 7mm wsm???

I am wondering. Why spend the extra money for a widcat round that you cannot buy if your were in a pinch everywhere. The 7mm mag will still outperform the shorts??? Extra money for less performance. I am no expert but did talk to one before making my decision on the 7mag. Contact Bob Shell-480-983-7078. He is a master reloaded.

    First Coues Buck For Tanner!

Tanner, Tanner, Tanner. You are a killing machine. You'll need to know that last year. He past up a smaller 2 point in trying to get a bigger trophy. One his brother killed. This time, he went for the bigger one. You have great control over buck fever. The animals will learn to fear you. Uncle Travis

Rifle / caliber choice for youth elk

I know that this is a bit late but I am new to this. I have a 10yr old son who will be hunting this year on his first youth cow elk in 6a. On his 10th birthday. I bought him a T/C Encore w/ the flextech recoil in 7mm mag. I know what you are all saying. Thats a lot of gun for a child. For some. My son is no bigger that the next. However, I came to this conclusion talking to Bob Shell who is a Custom reloader and he first made 120gr light loads for him which are still far superior to any 270 or less. ( I love 270) While shooting these load I would occasionaly slip in a manufactured load of 150gr and he could not tell the difference. He is now grouping @ 200 yrd with custom 150gr Barnes tiped bullets. If this is an option, it is one a child could grow into. Also, barrels to change calibers are $300. I hope this helps.
