"VEGITARIAN FRIENDLY CUTS" YOUR SLOGAN COULD BE "NO ANIMALS WE HARMED IN THE PROCESSING OF THE CUTS" -
I have not heard anything about MGM barrels. I have an Encore and have been looking into a few other custom makers. What have you looked into and why did you choose MGM? Also, what did it cost with the break?

Jade, Listen these words of wisdom. There is a Discount Tire in almost every city on AZ. There is also a Wal-Mart on every corner in the US and most open 24hrs. If something were to happen and you needed a tire replaced (if you buy the road hazzard warranty) you will not have to pray you do not get another flat till you get back home and can get it fixed. You'll be able to stay on your trip. They will price match anyone and they rotate for free and give free flat fix. A little more money but worth every penny. Off roading is hard on tires and anything can happen. This is also the reason why I only buy Wal-Mart auto batteries. Warranty at every corner.

Looking to get a gun for my daughter
TEAM JESUS replied to WOODSAZ's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I bought my boys the Rossi rifle, shotgun combo's. I think for under $200. you get the youth stock, a 22 long rifle, 410 or 20gu shotgun along with a 243 rifle barrel. Good enough gun to grow up with and able to hand down to her children one day. -

Let me first start out by saying "Thank You" to all who offered area assistance for this hunt. Opening Day Friday, I had to work and was not going to allow Hunter to miss school for a Javi hunt. Elk or deer, different story. By Friday night, we were up at Bloody Basin Rd. Only having been there once before, and now going off what other CWT members have said, we found ourselves at a raging river just past the ranch house. Having to back up a trailer in the dark a 1/2 mile is not fun. After turning back around, we found a good place to camp. Rain, rain and more rain all night long. We still woke early with high expectations. Still rain and bitter cold. We finally got a break around 8am and decided to just head up the closest hill thinking that in the event of more rain, we could make it back quickly. Sitting down to glass every new view, we found not one animal of any species. Around 12pm we decided to head back to the trailer, taking a longer route back than we did when we left that morning. Up another hill and it started to rain, again. Heavy rain. I told Hunter that we needed to find somewhere to get out of the rain. I spotted a huge boulder that would provide us some refuge from the rain and told him to run towards it. We stood on top of the boulder and Hunter pointed down to the bottom where he saw a huge hole. Two feet from the hole, I noticed two bedded Javelinas. They spotted Hunter and took off. The smallest one took off like Forrest Gump, all the way up the hill. The big boar took his time and with hair sticking up, made the mistake of trying to figure out what startled them out of their warm, dry bed. By this time, I was carrying Hunter's rifle and immediately gave it to him and pulled down the legs of his bipod. The boar was moving around us quickly, still not sure of what was around him. He made his last mistake and stopped 30 yards from Hunter. Hunter hesitated none as he dropped this pig. One shot from his 22-250 right on the collar. He has been practicing out to 300 yards and when he gets a shot, it's within archers range. For a pig, it is actually one of the prettiest Javis I have ever seen. Smelled the same though.

My son has the youth Javi hunt in unit 21. Now I have always heard that hunting around or on Bloody Basin road is the route to go. Can someone give some good areas to start looking this weekend. Won't lie, yes I want your honey holes if you willing to give them up. But will siffice for general area's you have seen pigs.

South South East side of the Cerro Colorados. In the flats and rolling hills. Lots of pigs. Lots of pigs. Was there on a youth deer hunt and I could not believe how many pigs I saw.

Umm? Kaibab? 9000+ft and no whites.

Congrats and great story. Years ago I picked up 2 small piglets that were crying next to two gut piles. I thought they would not make it over night due to the smell of blood in the air. After taking them to the G&F who were in the area. He told me that Javalina unlike other animale are very sociable animanls and will take in any other javalina into their heard. They would eventually come back for them. Piglets make alot of noise.

Can you give us more info on the Adobe Wildlife Center?
-
Why would you be getting rid of this scope. I am not trying to get in your personal business. Is there another scope you're looking for? Do you like this scope? I was actually considering this one for my 7mm but not with the BDC and turrets. Nikoplex with custom turret.

Would you give us more specs like FPS and what is the powder charge?
-
So its a new gun that shoots Vaults??? Whats the FPS and how many grains of caffiene are loaded????

TEAM JESUS replied to C.O.U.E.S.'s topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I live on the North side of the bridge. Since it has been down, vehicle break-ins and theft has slowed substantialy. I'm a little worried now though. -
I retire my arrows. I figure they have fulfilled their job. Most of the time they have broken anyway. I have yet for an animal to step infront of my target butt so the arrow will have a soft stop after the pass through. I have hope though.

I have one and love it. I say get it.

Bowstring unraveling a little....
TEAM JESUS replied to coues4u's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Your string can be changed as often as you like. To answer your first question. Cutting a few strands will not hurt for a short term. If you shoot alot or are depending on it for a hunt, Then don't take take the chance. When you change this one, try to get two strings. One for back up. Put one on your bow, set anchors and peeps along with any silencers you use. Do the same with the other. Do not move your rest or site when setting both strings. Just your nock sets or loop. Also remember the amount of twists in each one. I do not change my strings until I notice fraying and or a stretch. I do however have a back up all set up. Lube is important and make sure to get the serving also. Serving can be redone and is less expensive than a new string. Don't over lube, makes a mess when hunting when hot. -
We use the 150 TTSX for 7mm. Flat, accurate and deadly. I am going to switch the rest of my guns over to this bullet. 30-06 and 270. I would recommend a heavier bullet though. 30-06 is a big round bullet that likes to play heck with the wind at long ranges. It is easier to adjust for drop than it is for wind speeds or cross winds. This bullet mushrooms like you see it advertised. Also, if you ever draw Kaibab. You'll not have to switch loads.

Sat at water all day Sunday the 20th. Only does and pigs. Pictures on camera were all does with no bucks with them. That means that all Javi hunters will do good with whities. I wonder if this will push the mulies back a month also? 24b
