Hunting in America has been declining as a "whole" since about 1970. In recent years, the decline has become exponentially more rapid. Bill Quimby Wow. I know of some people who are diehards or so I thought, that only applied for bonus points this year. Good for our draw odds but bad for revenue. When times get tough its hard to justify spending money on hunting like anything else. $5 dollar gas would mean no scouting trips but maybe one for me .

I have a 6 month old male Bassett hound for sale that I need to get rid of. He is a mellow dog and actually very quite at that. He is papered but we never registered him if that makes any sense. I am only asking $50 to cover the odds and ends like his shots that he is current on. He is also NOT fixed if you are looking to breed.

Thanks for the offer, but I am going to be selling a pair of Leupold 12's here pretty soon to get the 8 or 10's. Like stated before, I need to look through a few first to see what differences I can see. Especially with Vortex making some changes for the new year.

Like the title says. I have heard this and it seems somewhat true, that the higher magnification shows more movement thus it can be harder to see objects. Is having lower magnification with more field view or more power better? So if you are using these mostly for carrying and not so much on a tripod or not at all, what do you like? Added- I decided I will get some 10's. Has anyone tried or looked through the Nikon Monarch X' or the Nikon Premier's?? Cant pony up enough for the Swaro's or Leica's but thought the higher end Nikons might be good and more affordable.

The Nikon EDG sound great but the price is more or less the same as a pair of Swarovski EL's from what I have seen. I really am leaning toward the Vortex Razors maybe even in 8's now. Since the 10's are sold out everywhere it seems. Probably not enough difference between 8 to 10 to worry about it. I really need to make a trip out of town where I can actually look through some optics and compare.

Gonna go for 10's. Now which ones that wont force a 2nd mortgage to be able to afford !

I believe the game and fish just flat out does not manage deer here. They are to preoccupied with elk and wolves. 900 tags in unit 27 for mule deer. Its sickening to go up there and see that, especially compared to what it once was. I asked a warden once why they dont shut certain areas down to let the population rebound and they said it wouldnt make a difference. What a crock! Yet it was done right across the border in NM and worked in same type of terain. Its money that matters nothing more.
