This is a sad organization
BeardownAZ replied to Pine Donkey's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Sad part is it's not suprising in the least. -
We(people in general) allowed politics to dictate wrongly how the forest should be managed and dealt with even though most of us here probably have more sense than those that allowed it to come to this. So when these idiots started these fires, mother nature took over and cleaned house, even to our horror and heartbreak, her way. But it will be back even though alot of us wont get to see it again the way we liked it. I just try to look at what good can come from it eventually. Hopefully my kids will get to see alittle bit of it that way it was intended.

Everything about most of the people on those shows is so fake. It seems like they are trying so hard to be these good ol southern boys that they arent. Tred Barta seems to be one of the few exceptions even before he was wheelchair bound. Seen him hunt a mule deer doe in Colorado or Idaho I believe, with his son, using long bow on foot. That was hunting. I dont understand getting so excited over killing a deer that is "farmed" and shows up to the same location everyday and no else can shoot cause it is on private land and never ventures off that acreage.

Dont even watch the Outdoor Channel anymore cause its the same thing over and over again. Glad someone else has noticed. I would like to see some of these "great" hunters come out here and do a show and hunt for Coues and not during the rut!

ATF to Require Information on Frequent Gunbuyers in Border States

I agree with you 100 percent, its just that the corruption in this country has gotten so bad, nothing suprises me anymore. Still better than most countries but not going in a good direction for one that was setup like ours was/is. -

If the people in charge of the highest office in Law Enforcement in the country dont abide by the rules, a small time politician(mayor) shouldnt be so suprising. He just doesnt have the resources to cover it up like others do in Washington. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/07/18/atf-chief-admits-mistakes-in-fast-and-furious-accuses-holder-stonewalling/ -

ATF to Require Information on Frequent Gunbuyers in Border States
BeardownAZ replied to swishjth's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
What part of my post asked for lawlessness?? None. I stated it doesnt make it right for Agencies to break the law any more than the common man. My views merely reflect what our constitution states and was intended to do. Keep the power of the country in the hand of the free people and keep the government(including cops,ATF, etc) and its powers in check. And i guess it makes sense that Janet Napolitano is from your neck of the woods! -

You give a typical reply of a cop. You think as long as a badge is behind it, it is right and lawful. ATF is not the same as a everyday beat cop. To say that is to not really understand how Federal agencies work. Nor does it give them or ANY agency(local, state, federal) the right to break the law to catch crooks. There is something like 1400 guns they(ATF) let go that they cant track. Yet if I did this, I would be in a federal prison spending a decent portion of my life if not all of it. I have a healthy respect for law enforecement but knowing some as family and friends, I also see there "The law applies to everyone but us" attitude. It seems it was the uppers in this sting operation who did wrong not the subordinates. Yes it is still the gun runner who commits the crime but it is the agency who is supposed to stop it not become part of it. I dont say this to be offensive but I think you need to look at things as a free-individual American citizen and less a cop! -

Now I know why the ATF was referred to as "Jack Booted Thugs" by the NRA in the 90's, cause they are! Blame us for there screw ups by putting a bogus policy on to 4 border states! This administration has got to go! -
No. In the Safford area. Just a big UA fan!
-
He was relocated, to the county landfill that is! Besides he showed no obvious fear of people even after chased by a car and still came back for more. They did exactly as they should of.
-
could smell smoke and see smoke off to the west of Safford. Sun was orange this evening too.

With exception of houses, property and the tall pines being burned, I think it will all be for the better despite it being hard to see right now. It seems most areas comeback better than they where before the fire. Just gotta give it a few years to get rain and some grass and shrubs growing again. Animal wise, things will be good again.
-
Maybe thats why they(environuts) dont want the timber salvaged?? No camping keeps people out of the forest longer, which they love. Theres no way to know yet what will be open and when, even based on things learned from the Rodeo fire. I am sure these 2 are very similar but very different and the monsoons will probably have a big role to play in that. Pictures show alot more green areas and back burn areas than I thought there would be so that seems to be a little promising. But those IR maps seemed to show the area down in 27 to be pretty bad in a few choice spots. Why is it closed to camping to begin with after these fires and why for so long?? Public safety has to be my guess.
-
Nice slide show! I was picturing nuclear holocaust everywhere not just some parts. Considering how big it is, the fact that there is still alot of green is promising.
-
Shot my only bull, elk ever for that matter, up there last year. Thats one area I hope hadnt burned to the ground. That sucks!
