As much as I'd like to see ASU's coaching search drag on to late December / early January ... heck sometime in February is fine with me (after signing day ... paralysis by analysis, I actually would like to see you guys dump Boise State on their heads. Always root for the Pac12 in their non conference games. Makes the league look that much stronger. your're right but thats not going to happen. ASU looks like they may hire the guy from SMU. Not sure about him.

accurate, fast, lots of knockdown power. Bestof the 300 mags IMO. Recoils like it too.
-
Will consider reasonable offers!

Everybody keeps sayin Sumlin but no guarantee he even leaves. I think he would be solid but he still has some to prove. Coaching a Conference USA team to 12-0 and being good in the Pac-12 are alot different. Seriously, why not Danny White??

And Mike Leach is Washington States new coach. If your beloved AD Lisa Love waits to long, anybody capable of getting ASU(school as a whole) out of its current slump will be long gone. You'll end up with another D. Erickson while UCLA, Washington State and UofA are on the move up with there new high profile coaches. Better call Danny White!
-
Absolutely right! I think Lisa Love is a bigger problem than Erickson.

Also I believe the schedule wont be as brutal to start with like this years, so they wont get slammed right away. And can work in the system. Scott is unbelievably fast just wasnt as accurate as Foles. KaDeem Carey is also a huge bright spot. Theres a comment in the Daily Star from Lane Kiffin at USC saying he is not pleased with the hire with knowing Rodriguez' football knowledge. That cant be a bad thing when the opposition isnt happy!

Good hire. Stoops had some flashes of success at UofA and had some good recruiting at times. This guy should be able to match all of that consistently and better. Just how good, who knows! Byrne is finaly getting the school to dump money into the facilities and staff so maybe this is a turning point for the football program to be respectable on a normal basis and not just basketball.

I noticed this year what seemed to be a lack of mule deer in general in the unit I hunted(28). Went back to a area we had good luck with last year and even sign of deer was almost completely absent. These where good areas with all tanks full of water. Heard the same thing about alot of the neighboring units as well. I dont know about Coues but Mule deer really seem to be struggling and they keep dishing out the tags. Did anybody else seem to notice these things? What causes it, weather, cats, etc??
-
How about them Devils! Oh wait......! Haha Bear down!
-
Yeah, it would be nice for some decent years of wet weather. There just aren't as much mule deer as there used to be. I dont think G&F really manages them well either. Seems they're more concerned with wolves and ferrets or whatever. Alot seems to be working against them. Wish they would really cut the tags for a while and maybe put in a antler point minimum or something.

It would be nice if both could meet with winning seasons and conference championships on the line instead of being lopsided and one being a spoiler at best. Either way........ BEARDOWN ARIZONA!
-
Yeah, Ericson is gone. Mile Belotti is a big rumor right now for UA. Would be a good hire!

sold

I didnt hear a single shot....that has never happened in all my time of hunting. Kind of a strange year.

isn't this the optics forum? Yes, but not generally for selling, more like reviews and such.

Should probably put this in the classifieds forum.

BeardownAZ replied to livinthedream's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My grandfather used to kill and see tons of deer just staying in camp. As he got older and legs werent good enough to hike, it was more about just getting out of the house and camping than hunting so he'd stay at camp. Everybody hiking all over the hills made the deer move and that included right through and around camp. I know of more than one time I have gone out killing myself hiking only to be driving back to camp to see some nice buck or bull right next to the road somoeone else just drove down. They go where they want. -
Lawyers, guns and money
BeardownAZ replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I think the point was that, our society is almost completely dictated by lawyers who have there own ambitions ahead of the countries best interest. Not that every single one is bad. Its just too lopsided as the article told, making the whole group(lawyers) look bad. -
Byrnes was able to keep Sean Miller and we now have the best recruiting class in college basketball in the nation for 2012, and he has been doing alot of digging for money for the football program to enhance facilities and such and as well as setting up some pre game traditional activities most good football programs have to attract recruits. ASU grad or not, he is the most aggressive AD UofA has had and thats what they need right now. Personally I never thought Dennis Erickson was that great a fit at ASU. I still dont but at least his work is finally showing some. I always thought Danny White would be largely successful and the fickle fan base in Tempe would love it and be more consistent with support. Both these schools have sold themselves short, but that is nothing new to Arizona sports in general.

I knew bringing Kush up would get you Weevils fans all bent out of shape ! No doubt UA sucks this year and you guys may have more success in football than UofA, with exception of the head to head, UofA leads 46-37-1. But contrary to what most Devils fans believe , ASU football isnt a top tier program anymore. ASU should of had a national title long ago. Even a diehard Cats fan like me can admit that.
-
This is exactly the truth. No excuses here, they just plain suck this year. Maybe this mid year firing is the UA finally realizing they have to be serious about the program for it to succeed. Even still I would rather be a losing Wildcat than a Sun Devil whinning about the days when Frank Kush was still coaching.
