yotes calling question
BeardownAZ replied to MULEPACKHUNTER's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I wouldn't do two different calls at the same time. However, I have switched calls during a set and brought one in. Started out with rabbit in distress and heard them far off but wouldn't come in. I switched to a challenge, and brought him within fifty yards. I could have gotten him if I had a rifle, but I had my bow and didn't have a clear enough shot. Just all depends on the coyote and the situation. What he said. If they are yipping or barking not howling, I've been told you may have been seen. Or that they are letting others know something is not right. Not sure of that though -
UCLA won't go to the Fiesta. They still didn't win the South cause UofA got blown out in the title game. Besides, there last game...at home...they got embarrassed. Now everyone in the PAC needs to win there bowl games

Kinda like you guys twice, last year against Stanford??? Yeah I remember that, but ASU fans seem to forget that real quick

I see the trolls from ASU finally emerged. That's pathetic but funny too

Calling after deer season starts
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I think alot of people see coyotes dead on the side of the road or see them trotting across the road and think they are easy to hunt or stupid cause they are everywhere. They're everywhere cause they are smart. I probably educate too -
Gonna be a tall task. Oregon will be more focused this time. They have more to lose. But if Uofa plays loose and goes after them aggressively like they did the first 2 times, then they have a good shot. I think Oregon intimdates most schools and because of that the other teams dont play well.

AZ- How long before we hit Bottom?
BeardownAZ replied to coues32's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Anybody who thinks money doesn't account for majority of there(game and fish) decision making has there head in the sand. Biologist may put in there input but they work for that same agency that pays there wages whose whole revenue is based on what we give to them by tags, licenses, etc. Hmm I wonder if money has ever made a government do things for less then honest reasons?? -
Everything has its place, but coyotes are no where close to being affected by a hunting contest or year around hunting. Like it said, there numbers may be increasing even. I detest the state of California and all the ridicolous BS that comes out of it. Its constant. I should rephrase that. I detest the states politics. Unfortunately great weather and location attracted aton of idiots to ruin it.

Calling after deer season starts
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Thats what I was thinking too. I know one thing though, there are coyotes everywhere Ive been. Looking forward to doing more calling especially once it all dies down. -
What's wrong with either of them, other than being at ASU, they've both been winning right???
-
Really?? Tell that to all the absent usual characters on here who are ASU fans who are much worse but now refuse to show up and take it like we did the last two years. We're going to enjoy this, you'll just have to get over it.

The silence is deafening. They are seething right now.

I know Kelly wasn't at his best, but the way Graham did him was wrong. He said this was his team after his first game back from his injury. So much for that. I think Todd Graham is a good coach but that decision was wrong. That's the Graham that left Pitt right there

Let's see if the usual suspects come on here and make excuses. Either way, Rich Rod has earned a raise big time for a program like this. Way overachieved this year. Heck both teams did, especially with all the defensive departures ASU had. Fun to see college football for both teams at high level not just state pride on the line. BEARDOWN ARIZONA!

Bet the liberal nitwits would love this info to be hidden from view. If this info is true, these animals could have us for dinner the second we leave the vehicle and never know it was coming. Creepy! http://www.foxnews.com/science/2014/11/24/gps-study-tracks-grizzlies-as-follow-hunters/

Wow, that's a big tom!!!

Sounds like a lot of units. But don't dare question game and fish motives or there fan boys will be on here shortly to straighten you out. It's all about money and that's the way it's gonna stay

Another thing to think about is: Time of day to call. I start in morning like I do deer but not necessarily before first light. I think once its cooled down, you can go anytime and be succesful. I agree with, I dont call in the wind. I hate windy days for anything. So do it and make it work though.

Another thing to ask is, where do you park your vehicle, atv, etc( i try in a low area, kinda hidden if possible) and how far do you walk from the vehicle before making stands and do you drive to your next or do you walk? I drive to most next ones, especially if not successful, maybe a mile or so before trying again. What do you guys do?

Well the rich part is becoming true as much as things cost these days. But really, to spend time in th field does cost some coin. Gas for one, ever more so if its a unit not close by. Gear. Binos. I buy Vortex cause I cant justify right now in my life spending more on Swaros, Leicas, etc. Too many other priorities in life at the moment. But thats money too. In my opinion luck is a big part of it, even for those who are out all the time. I know some guys who outfit and even they have hard time killing big trophy deer sometimes. Theyll find a huge buck(muley or coues) and watch it for months only to have it disappear a month before the hunt to never be seen again. Ive known a few people whose had this happen. Thats luck, bad luck. But it happens. Sometimes like they say, its better to be lucky then good.
