Live in Tucson, First Bow - PSE or Bull Basin?
BeardownAZ replied to cwnova's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
All I hear is great things about Bull Basin. I just don't get how a factory(PSE) store isn't the best in the business. Think I may go in sometime and try a few bows out. Wish all things I buy in life had a "test drive" opportunity. Haven't shot one in 12-14 years. Probably alil rusty, lol. -

So what did you ever get? I want to revive this thread as I had my bow stolen like 12-13 yrs ago and never got another one. Shot at a few deer but never connected. Practiced all the time. Loved just shooting it. Always just under or over. Been seriously thinking of getting back into it. -
This is true, deer as well in a lot of units too

27 isn't what it used to be. As said, the fire changed things and for some reason, the rut seems like it starts later there. Was up there 2 years ago for a rifle rut hunt and they did exactly what yours are doing, bugling at night and shutting off at day break. Mean while unit 1 was going crazy. Still not sure why. Just keep at it.

Lots of pressure in 27 will usually push them down off into the deep canyons going off the rim. And there are lots of those in 27. Think of areas you seen were you wouldn't want to hunt, that's were they like to go. Seen some huge bulls killed in those areas but not many as most wont hunt down there and its understandable why.And yes, Alpine is split between units

Always thought the pistol caliber carbines were cool. Even thought they would be a good varmint gun in place of close quarter shotgun. I would love one in 10mm

Petition to charge Hillary
BeardownAZ replied to Anaconda's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Petition till your blue in the face, you might be if she had her way, it wont change a dam thing. Nothing short of a violent revolution will change things in this country. Yeah I know, its taboo to say "violent" but its true. But that wont happen in our lifetime as people are too apathetic to anything going on around them to stand up for change. -
I think the "dwarf" or "genetically" different coues are cool. I would rather shoot one of them then a regular buck. Just something out of the norm. I do remember my grandfather as a kid talking about miniature or dwarf deer down by the border units as he lived in Douglas and hunted those units. Always thought back and thought he just meant Coues once I got older and understood deer more. Now I think he was talking about these deer. Interesting.
