223 factory loads??(pics pg. 3)
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Sorry but shooting 300RUM for coyotes is a little to rich for my blood, lol. I like to keep it cheap when I shoot them trash eaters. But it would be good deer and elk practice. -
Don't fool yourselves, if the general public can vote on this, they'll pass it, not understanding what the truth actually is. Emailed them my displeasure.

Grimaldis Pizza hosting antihunting fundraiser

It's a fundraiser not just a large dinner party. Can't imagine they don't know what's going on. -
Grimaldis Pizza hosting antihunting fundraiser

I've been thinking the same thing. The other cats are not even a talking point on this as you mentioned, federally protected. But it just goes to show that they will lie and manipulate to get what they want. This is solely about mt.lions and bobcat. They know the other 3 aren't the issue or concern. -

Went with some PRVI 69gr and it shoots really accurate, 1/2 in groups at 100 yards. Out of a Aero AR 16in barrel. As soon as I get out and call one in, Ill post the results. -

Everything will be next if they have there way. Feel good politics are destroying this country -
This is the truth!! People are coddled idiots. They think a civil society is automatic. Only really bad hard times are gonna make people wake up and see how great this country is/was

Both coaches won with previous coaches recruits. Now that it is all there's, they cant do crap. The Pac-12 as a whole doesn't look good this year to start

Wow, nice ram! So I always hear that sheep aren't hard to hunt but the area they stay in is the hard part. Would you agree? Is that the Black River 27 hunt?

223 factory loads??(pics pg. 3)
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
It seems those who've had issues with the vmax have only had the issue in 223. 22-250 and others it seems to do just fine. I'm gonna try a mixed bag of soft points and hollow points of different brands and weights and go from there. 55 being lightest and 69 the heaviest I'll try. -

GreyGhost- What was the result? Liquid insides? Did it hit bone or no? I think hitting an area like a shoulder is the big difference in these types of bullets(Vmax etc). Seems like they are lethal in even bone hits but they don't kill or drop the animal immediately as opposed to exploding on the inside when they penetrate. -

To add to this topic. Been reading on a few other sites about V-max bullets and some having an issue with them blowing up to shallow on the dogs or splashing as some called it, and not dropping them dead immediately. Anyone else heard of this or had this issue? Seems a lot love it but some absolutely hate the vmax for those reasons stated. -

Prvi is actually good ammo for what it cost. Generally seen it as bulk cheap ammo but it does better then that. I know some of the 308 match ammo from them shoots really good. A lot better the most ammo snobs would ever think it could. I think I could push this gun to 300 yards with legit expectations but realistically most coyotes seem to come well under that so I don't see much shooting at that distance. -

Anyone using 55gr on 1 in 7 twist barrel(AR)? Seen many people(AR15.com) who say they use them with great results and others not as much. Figure maybe going up to 62,64 or even 69 grain. -
Coyote trapping on my own property
BeardownAZ replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
As mentioned, chicken wire does nothing for predators and you have to go into the ground with fencing or go out about a foot or so along the entire perimeter. Depending on your setup, Id use those welded horse panels from tractor supply then line the lower 2 ft or so with wire mesh. -
ACLU complaining about it. Go figure ETA: ACLU says unconstitutional, for a choice they(inmates) control yet getting the full sentence instead of taking a responsible avenue is just fine. How our a$% backwards world operates is beyond me

Vortex Optics 40% off for Vets, Military and Law Enforcement
BeardownAZ replied to phillyphan's topic in Classified Ads
Vortex used to ask for discretion about the discount program but not anymore it seems. Not sure why before and not now. I would think its good advertising showing you support those in uniform. Maybe that's why they changed. -
This is gonna be worse then the Nuttall Fire in 2004. Its at 21,000 acres as of today and with 110 degree temps in Safford and blowing wind, steep terrain, its not in favor of the forest service putting it out or anywhere close anytime some. To bad they couldn't get to it when it was a small brush fire for the first few days.
