Are bears the type of animal to blow out of the country after being spooked or shot at?

US Troops interfering with hunt in border units 36B etc
BeardownAZ replied to gogoj1's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
All the troops to be deployed will be support troops either way. Unfortunately that’s part of hunting near the border. Had we not had so many enemies within(liberal democrats, Rino republicans), our border wouldn’t be an issue ever. Thank them for your troubles, not Trump. -
Bears and missed shots/spooked

No, I am quite sure that did not happen. I guarantee that didn't happen, lol -
Bears and missed shots/spooked
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I am getting conflicting stories, from others off this site. As well as experience. My dad shot his bear in a area we were hunting elk and seen him a week before. The bear season started a week after he killed his elk. He went back to the same area we had seen the bear the week before hoping it might be there. Sure enough, it was. Of course it wasn’t spooked either. I have no doubt they move when need be. I was just curious if being spooked made there habits change like big deer do or are they more like javelina and come back after the dust settles, granted they have a reason too like food, etc. I hear from some that hunt bear regularly they have home areas, others on here say they are nomadic. Hmmm -
Bears and missed shots/spooked
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
No not really. Most animals run after being spooked or shot at. Some come back, some come back more skittish and cautious and others leave, never to return again. That’s what I was getting at. How are bear in that regard. -
Like American Werewolf in London, stay on the path, lol. Kidding! You'll be fine. But off highway travel usually requires a permit or such.

Then you'll be to old to hunt like the rest of us who are waiting for the same thing

Broke my tripod adapter today. Does anyone use these types? Not looking to break the bank. Thoughts?

I know, that's exactly what happened to me,lol

I appreciate that. Thanks very much. I found a Jim White one I had stashed away I had forgotten about, that will work. I still plan on upgrading equipment down the road so I still want/wanted to hear the opinions on here.

Just like he said. Depends on terrain. Also your style. I don't like glassing and sitting long for coyote, so I like a quick light setup, were I do lots of 15-20 minute stands. 1-8x24 or 1-6 x24 powered scope for enough out to 3-400 yards if necessary but not likely. Most my shots are always quick and under 200 yards, Under a 100 easily the majority, where the lowest power comes in handy. Red dot on a shotgun would be good!!

Is there any downfalls to the strap/holder style verse the screw in type??
-
Ill look into those mentioned. Got a pair of Vulture 15x56 and may upgrade down the road so I was looking for one that was somewhat universal or would work with what I may get down the road.. The outdoorsman is close to that as are the strap style. Thanks

A 12 in my mind and on the internet forums, lol. 3-4 in reality. 5-6 in some good years. I do more single day varmint hunts to get my hunting fix over a longer period of time throughout the year. I'm not dedicated(scouting, spending the money on top notch optics, etc) as I'd like to be. Life just seems so busy all the time. But I'm happy so no complaints.

Anyone else have "cheap" rifles that shoot stupid accurate?
BeardownAZ replied to lionhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Now if custom ARs are the topic that's a whole other thing. I think custom can actually be cheaper and shoot better in this case if you know what you are doing! -

Custom anything is nice. But not necessary to kill or be a good hunter or shot for that matter, if that's the argument. I'd say I'm more semi custom myself as I always want a good trigger in any gun minimum, that I shoot. And not many have good factory triggers, some being the exception. -

So whats custom? I guess anything altered from original factory?? Serious question, no sarcasm. Or would you consider custom built from the ground up? I'd say closer to the last part of my statement. -

BeardownAZ replied to lionhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Yes I have had a few that shot great. Tikka T3 Lite for me. Was like $400 or 450 at the time. Shot just like the pics. I've seen some cheaper end guns shoot really well out around the 500 yard mark. Not sure how they'd do after that but the gun wasn't bought for hunting past that really either or even at that range. And I thought this thread was about cheap rifles not custom?? I don't get the lets compare a $4000 item to a $400 item. The $4000 should shoot better. If it doesn't, you got screwed or you got a gonga deal on the cheaper item. -
Looking for a female Golden retriever puppy
BeardownAZ replied to muley224's topic in Classified Ads
We are actually picking one up from Roswell, NM this weekend. Maximus- So was the bad litter of pups was from a craigslist seller not Chiricahua in Willcox correct? -
Those are some really nice knifes. Just a wee bit out of my price range

How it is supposed to be. No trial, no liberal defense to blame everything else but the shooter. Just one less homicidal loon in the world to worry about. Hope the ones injured end up ok.
