Pathfinder, 4Runner, Cherokee, or etc
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I've been looking at these and they definetly seem cheaper. What size tires did you go with after the lift?? Its hard for them to be seen as a off road vehicle in the "soccer mom unmodified version" but someone else has told me the same things you said about them. -

Pathfinder, 4Runner, Cherokee, or etc
BeardownAZ replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I'm not wanting something as big as an expedition. The samurais are too small. I am 6'4 and got a wife and 3 kids to tote around at times. I'm not stuck on any one brand but just listed the 3 I did as they seemed the most common and roughly the size I am wanting. The XL7 is a interesting idea. Not wanting something new or anything fancy or expensive(sold my side by side for part of that reason) just a good running, hunting/ out in the hills rig. -

Been hearing exactly what you both have said so far. -
Should be safe, cant guarantee it though in this day and age, lol

Fudds. I cringe everytime I hear that word. Those are the real enemies in the hunting and gun world. Some idiot in my town has a sticker on his truck proclaiming to be one. I wanted to heave a brick right through it. For those that don't understand what a Fudd is, look it up and strive not to be one. Game and Fish is either run by liberals or Fudds or both. Either way, they aren't on our side.

Its hard to really make a good decision based on most peoples opinion as a lot are fans of one type or the other and wont be honest regardless of how bad or good one brand or model might be. I've owned a chevy, dodge and Ford. Cant say any of them were bad. They all had good over the others but nothing glaring. Right now, the Ecoboost really is the big thing and for good reason. But I don't think you would go wrong with the others had you chosen them. Its more personal preference anymore then just mechanics. Each has bad years and each has good years. I look for who's peaking with a good setup at the time I buy. Being blindly loyal is not a good thing. I think your new ride will do everything you want or need it too!

I have had better luck with Icotec. I'm not a FoxPro fan and I own one. There sounds are also the most used because they are the most widely produced and sold caller. So I think that has something to do with me having better luck using Icotec in my area. Not as many hunters have one(different sounds), but it seems almost anyone who has a electronic call, has a FoxPro. Also, my FoxPro quit working, as have a few co workers of mine as well. Not saying they are horrible but I definitely don't think they are the best by far. Edit- FoxPro will fix there calls but they aren't lifetime warranty. You will pay for it after a certain period of time. It wasn't worth it to fix mine. Why I went with the Icotec.

When do you predator hunt?
BeardownAZ replied to CatfishKev's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Mid to late morning is when I have best results. They are nothing like deer or elk. You can hunt them whenever. I know people who have great results in the summer when its baking! -
G&F talking about banning Calling contest
BeardownAZ replied to missedagain's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Since when has liberals cared about facts? That's were you underestimate them. It's about agendas driven but illogical emotion. They are nuts and they are running this country into the ground, one state at a time. -
G&F talking about banning Calling contest

Ot course the Antis are in there pockets. Have been for awhile. Why do you think they didn't want hunting passed as a constitutional right in this state. Maybe some will wake up on this forum after hearing of this. -

Game and fish is not a friend of hunters. They pretend like they are, but they are not. -

On the way home after seeing nothing all morning, something told me to pullover and check a thicket out before calling it a season. About 200 yards off the road and the other side of the thicket, was a grassy flat with yuccas and about 10 grazing pigs. After not being able to close the distance due to the swirling wind likely giving me away, I called em in too about 40 yards. They came running in from about 150 or so yards out. I nailed this sow with the Ruger GP100 357 from two that came in on a dead run. What a blast!
