I'd guess him around 80" right now. Don't think he will get close to 100" next year but low 90's is possible and that would be a buck to be proud of.

Great customer service from the outdoorsmans and you're getting the best adapter available.

A good friend of mine's Dad uses to work for F&W and one of his primary tasks was to do necropsies on livestock to determine if the cause of death was a wolf or something else. He would give presentations at conferences on some of the tell-tale signs and I got to see his presentaion one time and it was fascinating. Obviously the older the kill the more difficult it would be but items like skull fractures, bone breaks, etc he could use even after quite some time. Unfortunately I have since forgotten most everything from the presentation.

was that in the huachucas too? It was in the Atascosa Mtns

You learn that in ASU's advanced mathematics class?

Nice pic up on the rock like that. Here's one that I was able to snap out the truck window a few years back.

Are you really going to question the wildcats history in softball? UCLA & UA are the best softball programs in history

Since when is a sweet sixteen nothing to show for??? How many has ASU been to? I believe that number stands at a whopping 1.

First or Second Focal Plane Scope?
kwp replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Averagejoe hit the nail on the head. The POI of the crosshair will not change with either scope. If you are using mil dots or holdovers then the adjustment will be the same at any magnification using a first focal but will only work at your highest magnification with a second focal. The benifit to second focal is that the crosshairs will always be the same size. With first focal they adjust with magnification so you can get a big fat crosshair that will make it more difficult to precisley aim at a small target or a really fine crosshair that may be impossible to see during low light conditions. I prefer the second focal because I have a good rangefinder and use turrets to make my adjustment so I want the consistent crosshair. -
Makes me wonder if somebody has already found a bull that made it through this years hunts that is already huge and are guessing that it will be worth the money when it grows this years rack???

I'd recommend getting the Hornady Lock-n-load Headspace gauge. It allows you to measure the case length off of the shoulder. First measure a case that was fired in your chamber, then set-up your sizing die to bump the shoulder back .002". This will give you the clearance needed to easily close your bolt but make sure that your cases are not being overworked each time you size them. Should give you longer case life and possibly better accuracy.

I've found quite a few sheds like this over the years. Seems like it is most commonly mule deer. Not sure what happens to the animal, maybe just some funky antler growth in the future.

It really is user preference. Try one out before you buy one. I personally prefer the pan head much more than the pistol grip.

What are you planning on hunting with this new gun? Is this just going to be a deer gun or are you wanting another gun that can also handle the bigger species (elk, etc.) while being lighter weight? If just a deer gun then some of the smaller calibers mentioned would be awesome. If you are wanting to still be able to carry it on an elk hunt there are plenty of manufacturuers and custom builders who make lightweight guns in the 30 caliber magnums.

Looking to change the coordinates from Lat/Long to UTM. More importantly I'd like to be able to add a waypoint to a specific location on the map. I see how to add a waypoint to your current location but not a different location.

Thanks for the info guys, I knew I could get good info here. My hunting partner downloaded Cabelas recon and it looks pretty sweet but won't do (or we couldn't figure out) a few things that we would have liked. Sounds like there are some very good options out there for me to look further into.

It depends a lot on the weather. This year, it was warm and the majority of elk were still up high. Road hunters were slaughtering small bulls up in the burn. I'll be interested to see what the success rate was for the late hunt, surely quite high. An early winter will push the elk down to the lower country.

Refer back to my post earleir on in this thread. UCLA got hyped up to play UA and then laid an egg against ASU. ASU gets to benefit from that same occurence every week during conference play.
-
What this video explains is the rifleman method and as 308nut explained, it gets closer but at extreme ranges and extreme angles the error using the rifleman method can be quite significant.
-
And tomorrow ASU will lose to UCLA and have a third conference loss

Nice buck. Nothing wrong with the arrow left in. Don't question the shot placement so quickly, we weren't there. It could have easily been a follow-up shot.

17 point win for the cats in tempe. UA's depth just too much for ASU. Love the U of A chants rocking the arena

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/rankings/rpi/index1 There is a reason why UA is getting national recognition and ASU is not. Here are some numbers for you ASU fans (hopefully you can understand them). UA - RPI #3 and Strength of Schedule #8 ASU - RPI #57 and Strength of Schedule #122 Sure ASU is having a good year and if all goes well for them they may beat a few good teams and end up on the bubble for the tournament. UA has the pieces in place to be a very high seed and make a deep run in the tournament. ASU looks at the success of their season by how they did against UA. UA looks at the success of their season by how deep they go into the tournament (ASU is just another game along the way) ASU also gets the benefit of playing teams the same week they play UA. Do you ASU fans really think that Colorado was mentally ready to play 2 days off of their emotional loss to UA? When PAC-12 teams first look at their schedule they circle their games with UA as big games and bring everything they have for those games (having a target on your back comes with the territory of being the powerhouse). By virtue of this, ASU gets overlooked. I hope that ASU can develop a winning program, it will make the Arizona road trip a tough one for all the other PAC-12 teams and like BirdDog20 said make the conference stronger.

Wow, look is very similar to Swarovski's ELs but the custom ballistic capabilities have taken the game to another level. I'm jealous of those of you who have the $$$ to choose between these and the EL Ranges.
