Gaia is good, it has topos and sat images. You can also download topos if you go somewhere with weak cell service.

Started out 2013 really wanting to stick another pig with my bow. Went out two days without seeing any pigs, but found bedding area and foot sign. Starting this morning glassing southern facing slopes waiting to see a herd feeding on the hillside. With the winds howling, my partner and I decided to try the flats. After following numerous tracks in and around thick vegetation in the flats, I radioed my hunting partner and decided to call it quits for the morning. No sooner had I put my radio away then I looked up to see a javelina standing about 40 yards in front of me. Unfortunately I think the pig had seen me first. We played the you move first game for awhile until the wind changed and he was gone. I saw the herd split and run. I thought to myself, man I have underestimated these little guys. Based on the wind, I decided to follow the pigs which ran to the north. After awhile I lost the sign and gave up hope. It was about 1130 and I was getting hot from walking the flats. I dropped my buttpack and began to strap my sweater to it. As I was putting my gear away, I looked up and saw a pig coming straight for me about 30 yards away. I was caught in the open and snuggled up to a small bush for concealment. As the pig approached, I drew my bow and hoped it would cross in front of me. Of course the pig went behind me and came within five feet of me before stopping. The pig was on the other side of bush and I didn't have a shot. While at full draw the pig must have smelled me and woofed. Its hair raised and it took off. Luckily it ran about 7 yards in front of me and stopped. Still at full draw, I let the arrow rip. The javelina took off full sprint as I heard it crashing through the foliage. Less than a second later I heard a growl and I knew it was done. I waited a few minutes for my buddy to arrive and I we began to track the pig. It didn't take long(20 yards) and their it was laying on the ground.

Had this conversation with game and fish last year. It is not necessary to stay 1/4 from residence when archery hunting, but they strongly encourage you to due to safety issues.

Has anyone tried one of these mounts to video a hunt? Was thinking about buying a go pro but this would be a cheaper solution. I found this one on the Internet http://crazyarchery.com/ but I heard sportsmans has one too.

New Legislation to allow Suppressor Hunting in AZ
gregaz replied to coues7's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Surpressors for hunting will good for young hunters. Surpressors reduce recoil as well as sound. Most surpressors will increase accuracy and help stabilize bullets. There is a lot of myths about surpressors, while they are not for everyone the do have there place. -
Who makes the camo box case you have in the back?

I am using a Canon XSi and Swaro spotting scope. Most of my pictures are coming out too light or too dark. I have played with the ISO settings a little but I was wondering what camera settings will work best or any tips anyone has to remedy my issues.

anyone know these scum bags?
gregaz replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
They probaly werent aiming for the legs unless thats all they could see of the suspects, more than likely they were aiming for center mass and jerked the trigger due to the stress of being in a shootout.
