I think it's best used after you have already located pigs and are in close range to them and just need to get them closer. Last year I put a stalk on a herd and came in 60 yards too high. I grabbed my J-13 and had 3 in my lab in seconds. Just make sure you have an arrow knocked if you decide to use it that close. I tried to use it once when they were 200 yards away and all it did was spook them. Then another time out varmint calling I had them cross a 400 yard canyon gap and came to within 20 yards. You can never tell how they might act with it. And you don't need a J-13 anything that sounds like a dying piglet will do.

I have a step son that will be getting into archery for the spring pig season. He is left handed right eye dominant. For rifle this is not a problem as he is fully comfortable shooting right handed. What should we do?

Thanks everyone. Like the post above this one suggested, I guess we'll go to Cabela's and let him shoot a few arrows of both and let him decide what he feels more comfortable with before we buy anything. He will not be shooting at any pigs that are more then 25 yards.

So, he is going to have to learn to shoot with his left eye if we go with a left hand bow. I guess as long as he closes his right eye he'll be fine.
