Well the hunt started on Febuary 1st, but I was unable to get out for the first week of the hunt. On Friday the 5th we pulled the camp trailer up to a spot we knew held some sheep. On saturday we woke up around 5:30 and drove down the road about 2 miles. In less than an hour we had a group of about 10 spotted about 2 miles away in a large "bowl". We decided the only way we would be able to get on them would be to drive on the backside of the mountain and come up above them. So we drove all the way around and got ready. The hike was very long and VERY steep. As we eased up to the top looking down on the bowl they were in, we couldn't find them. So we gradually worked the ridge to the next bowl and spotted them at about 260 yards. By the time we spotted them, they had already spotted us. Knowing that they would bust out if we all were to go back out of sight, so we left the rest of the group right there. Me and my dad dropped down onto the backside of the hill, and came up right inline with them. I belly crawled to a little ledge covered in yuccas, and set up the Harris bi-pod I had on my 7mm. I then ranged them at 160. I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the one I wanted to stand up. My dad then dropped back off the way we had came, to try to cut them off if they went down the ridge after I shot. Finally the sheep stood up and I put the bullet right behind the shoulder. It went about 60 yards and fell down. After taking pictures and field dressing it, I threw it over my shoulders and started the long hike to the bottom. My dad got one about 2 hours after I got mine, only about 2 miles away. This was a very very TOUGH hunt, but well worth it!!!!!!

So heres the buck my brother put the smack down on this past saturday. This was his first hunt and he scored big!!!! Second to last day of the hunt we hiked about 2 miles into some big canyons we knew had deer in them. The third canyon we dropped into we busted out 5 does. I had a feeling there was going to be a buck around with them. After the does jumped up we sat down and glassed this buck at 250 yards. I told Tyler he's a big buck, get your gun ready. He pulled the bipod down on his gun and got ready to shoot. I told him shoot when your ready and right before he pulled the trigger the buck spun around. I thought he missed it, but the buck then came out of a little draw and I saw he was hit hard. I told him shoot again and he hit him at about 260 on the run. He took 2 more shots at the running buck and hit him one more time. As the buck ran out of site we took off running to cut him off. As we topped the ridge we couldn't see him. Then I saw movement in the draw, and told my brother to take another shot. The last shot put him down for good. As we walked up to the buck all of us were jumping up and down screaming and hugging each other. I was so happy for him, and I know we will remember this hunt FOREVER

Heres the buck I got on Sunday in the Burro mountains. We hunted a hard 6 days before connecting on this guy. We were up on a saddle glassing up a big slope. My dad and I had a feeling we should stay sitting for a few more minutes. Our feelings were correct!! This buck came in at 30 yards and my dad whispered "buck, he's a shooter". Immedietly I pulled my gun up and got ready. Our original intention was to get my brother a shot at him but he didnt have his gun ready to shoot. As soon as the buck came into the clearing I shot him and hit him perfectly. He only went about 50 yards and piled up. ANY GUESSES ON WHAT HE WILL SCORE

Any luck? -
Well I have that same hunt. Not sure where exactly we are going yet, but we are going to go scouting and I will keep you posted. Message me if you are interested
-
Not in those areas. But I was hunting deer around pinos altos and found a bunch there
-
All but the bottom muley shed have a little color, and are pretty solid

I would have to say Leupold vxII 6-18X40mm. I have two, one on my 7mm and one on my 300. This scope offers a lot of great features for a cheaper price. I have personally shot 3 coues over 500 yards using this scope.

If anyone has some good blueprints for trail cam lock boxes could you share them with me? I have had 2 stolen this year, and i am planning on building some, just need to know what works for you. It would be much appreciated.

Oryx are evrywhere on range. Just find a huntable group. Dont waste a whole day on a group far away. Every place is just as good as the next. Good luck
-
That would be very risky but very rewarding if you dont get killed. Be carefull if you do go

Nice NM muley. Score is 185 5/8.
