I get ten times as excited when one of my kids is behind the gun as i do when it is my turn.

I was 10 and it was a caribou in 40 below 0 F with a custom mauser 308 my dad built for me (which I still have and have used to harvest 3 elk and several mule deer and two javelina) in central Alaska with my dad. We were tent camping with 3 snowmobiles and a total of 5 hunters. I wish I had a picture. Hooked ever since. Anybody up for a winter snowmobile caribou hunt?

Bear Mountain has a good supply of Federal GM215M primers in today if you need them. We got these from a national distributor so they won't be as inexpensive as I would like. $4.49 per 100. There will be a limit of 1000 per person per visit for $44.90 plus tax. Sorry it took so long to get more of them in. The price started at 4.99 then I tried to go down to 3.99 but my cost with hazmat from this distributor ended up at 3.85. It is a tough market out there right now. We have had a large quantity on order direct from the factory for about 11 months. The price will go down as soon as we recieve them. I have no idea when that will be. Thanks for your support. ED

I have been using Shooter for several months and it works great. The auto fill of weather and gps data is very helpful if you have cell coverage at the time. For 10 bucks you can't go wrong. It is amazing how far this technology has come in the 10 years I have been using it. Anybody need the Cheytac Software i have two different versions I no longer need.

I took my sons on a Coues hunt for the first time with leftover tags north of Patagonia. Thanks to Aaron Kelly for his refresher on places to hunt since I have not hunted there for over 10 years. The boys did not want to miss any school (DNA testing might be in order) so we only hunted Sat, Sunday and Thursday (Veterans Day). Justin (my 15 year old) made a 350 yard shot (1) off the claw on a nice 4 x 4 and packed it out himself. Stephen (he is 11) also used the claw (now known as the triCLAWps) to shoot his at 438 yards with the first shot. I did the packing out for him, the lord knows I need the excercise. Great job boys, I love you. There is not much in life that is better than hunting with your sons.

A perfectly tuned bow is a thing of beauty. So is that Bull. 73 YARDS!!!!! Great Job Jody.

Willie is trying to keep from getting bonked on the head when I drop the rack. Willie tuned all the bows but mine so we had to let him in the pick. He also glassed up my bull from 1 1/4 miles away.

All these lucky dogs shot 2010 Archery Bull Elk with bows purchased and tuned at Bear Mountain. Thanks guys and Congratulations.

Does anyone know an FNF employee in Unit 10 Bull Hunting?
BearMtn replied to BearMtn's topic in Elk Hunting
Thanks. -
I need to get a hold of a gentleman hunting in unit 10 who works for FNF. If anyone knows who this is and has a mobile number please PM BearMtn. Thanks.

Great Job. I have two sons and I can't think of much that I would rather do than take them hunting. Spot and stalk in the cooler pines is a beautiful thing. I hunted Bulls in Unit 10 this year for the first time and it has great bulls but it is ugly. I really missed those pine trees. Is your video up anywhere? Congratulations
