Thanks for the info. To clarify I am hunting 36A rifle Nov. I intend to spend most of the week down there and was thinking of spending a day scouting a new area. For future draws or over the counter Bow.

I hope they can help. From what I know there are as many as 4000 people signed up for the month. I wonder how many will show up. It would be nice if they hung around Tres Bellitos those people do need some help. i expect to stay way above them and use them like drive hunters.

Word is there is another Minute Man patrol scheduled for the month of October. I am not sure the impact it has on us hunting in 36 and 34 but I am sure it will not be positive.

get the 17. I love it for rabbit and it does just fine with Yotes. Most of the jacks I have taken never moved when hit. Just shivvered a little and dropped over.

I have no interest in stopping anybody and do not think its the the best idea those guys do what they are doing. They have no authority to act. Somebody will eventually get hurt. The coyotes are not going to come near the area those guys are in and if they do they will go right by them just like they do the BP. If there is a confrontation who do you think is better prepared for that. I have no idea but I bet it would not be good either way. Last year while Javelina hunting I watched a guy walking around a ravine cutting open water bottles. When I asked him just what he was doing he told me he was doing his part to keep America safe. I still do not get his motivation but he was sure he was justified in his actions. We are all motivated by different things I guess.

Very funny stuff. My worry has never been the illegals. They have always stayed down low and have generally kept quiet during the day. My issue is having these guys driving all over the place since they have no idea where they are going.Taking up positions on my ridge lines. Making noise and generally creating a nusiance of themselves. They will have the media there with trucks and helicopters. I'm thinking the best way to avoid these guys is to carry a gallon of water and a plastic bag. I ahvef seen a lot of guys dressed like that and nobody who is looking forthem seems to see them.

If its a Bob Cat its the biggest one ever. Take a look at the Coyote in teh previous picture. About the same spot. That Cat is at leat 50% bigger

Scott That buck in 36B is mine. I think you need to keep working and spend less time scaring my buck. I know exactly where you are talking about. I hunt that area a lot. Unfortunatly I did not get 36B, I got 36A. My uncle was with me last year and we spent most of the week looking for that guy. Took a good 3x but never found him after the first morning. I did see several others who are also great size in the same general area. 2 or the 3 wer non typical but the 3rd had by my estimate 5 to 6 in eye guards and as best as I could see a perfect set. By the way my uncle did get 36 B Dec so get him now or he willbe onthe wall by Christmas. did you ever check out my Quail spot in 36 A I metnioned lat year to you. George -
I spend a lot of time in that area. Get to know the BP guys. They see a lot more then Illegals. They will also tell you the most travelled areas and ones to generally avoid during the hunt. Funny thing though. Last year when I broke down in Jan during the Archery hunt in 36A a BP guy drove by and had no real desire to help me in anyway. I had to hike for quite sometime to get a cell signal and call for help. Liuckily the guys At Luna's Garage in Amado were willing to help.

The coordinates I gave you are reachable from Ruby Road out of Arivaca. Try taking thte Amado Exit one day and go into the unit from the North side. A lot easier ride.

I'm thinking you were walking on them Coues. They sure are hard to find. Kinda like learning to shoot a pistol. You can't hit crap and then all foa suddne you look down the barrel and the sight lines up the weapon is flat your not choking it anymore and wham 6 in the black. Thats what I equate finding Coues too. Think small dog with the the ability to disappear. You don't hear them, you can never see them move and one day they are just there. I can't explain it, but I think the find the Coues page Amanda set up does a great job of showing how they hide in plain site. I am convinced the safest place for a couse deer to be is right out in the open.

So whats the story with the deer laying just off your left side in the weeds Who got that one.

You have the best tag for the year in my opinion. I spend a lot of time in that area. Its as rough as any place you will go. I havew a few favorite spots that are not very hard to get to. Send me a PM and I will send you the GPS coordinates. There is a ton of foot traffic. It is not the best idea to go alone and if you do stay put and glass. Not just for the coues. If your heading out to scout this weekend. Take Ruby Road just past the Warsaw Canyon turnoff. STay on Ruby for about another mile. As you see flats onthe left there will be an old ore shaft and mine onthe right side. The jeep trail runs back into the area most people go into by vehicle at the turn off. The area to the right is great. It leads to a big high bowl filled with all teh goodies Coues like to eat. If you head to the left about 1/2 mile across the flats there are a couple small slot canyons just above them is a rather innocous looking hill. Climb up there and follow the sun glass to the West from the bottom and the East from the Top. If you go too far you will see old Glory appear on the horizon go back.

I carry a long gun for shooting long generally. I do not always keep one in the chamber and once you bring that rifle up ther is little you can do but the invevitable which we would all be trying to avoid. If its a shotgun or my short model 94 that would be one thing. There are just too many times you are not going to make much use of that big stick.

I have not heard a word about it. I spend a lot time down in 34 and 36. I feel like somebody is watching me all the time. Quick story. Mo (hunting partner) and I were down in 36B Warsaw canyon area. Probably within a mile fo the border. I know we never crossed I kept a GSP on the whole time. Anyway we witnessed some very odd stuff. First we came aross a trailer at the bottom of a ravine. It was in good condition not too old. There was no road! Up un the ridge we found an old Caterpiller kinda dismantled. If it was used it was disassebled after use. So there is this kinda odd looking fairly new trailer at teh bottom of a ravine. It was raining but we glassed the area well and noticed it was obviously trampled pretty well and the area around the camper was worn to dirt. Then a green jeep suddenly appears ahead on the road. About 5 minutes later on this winding cliff side road we spot the back end of the Green Jeep just around a bend. Mo and I were in no mood for an ambush. I had my .41 blackhawk and a Dan Wesson .357 Mo had his .30 cal and a S & W .38 We weree not that well prepared for something so we hit the breaks and backed off the two track into the brush. We got a good vantage point and what do you know the Jeep comes creeping around the corner. I never got a really good look at teh driver the wind rain and windshield of his jeep obscured him. He was not a hunter in my opinion. No supplies in the jeep, Just gas cans. Who knows we stayed out of view an dhe went back down the road. At no point during the week did that jeep come out of that canyon. Maybe he was a homesteader, a coyote, a mule, or under cover. Just keep your head up and think twice before you confront anybody. Who knows what they are carrying but I bet its not for hunting Deer and Pigs!

There are good heards around Arivaca. Not sure hwo close to town you can bow hunt, but I have seen heards. As soon as you drive through Arivaca. I have seen good population from the corner of town for the first 10 miles down Ruby Road.

WHT MTNMAN I never got my buck last fall. I pursued a good old boy for a few days but never got a clean shot so I never shot. He drug me over Batamore hill a few times! I passed on a couple young 3x's and one big spike. I got strep throat the day I was heading out and spent most of the week sick as a dog, but hunting! Until I got my legs back under me I mostly sat and waited. Once I was feeling good I got after the big one I mentioned. I had him at about 300 yds twice but both times were striat down the spine and Thats a long shot on the move to hit him in the hind quarter and chase him for a week. My buddy Mo and I tried to head to Arivaca for dinenr Saturday as planned but the BP thought my lack of taillights was an issue so we never made it. I did go back in mid January and there were two of the largest herds of does in an area I never expected to see them. I got in them and waited all day actually most of two days but no buck for me. On the way out the old F150 started to show its age and I got to walk a while until I could get in tough with Luna's towing in Amado. If you ever need help call Luna's. They helped me fix the problem and I was off again. Anyway I can''t get stuck liek that any more so I fianlly broke down a bought a new Truck F-150 Fx4 5.4 ltr. Crew Cab. I figured its been long enough. Lets figure out where you are going to be so we can get together. I spent last year down past the ranch North side of Batamore. I expect to start scouting and Archery soon.
