Congratulations. Opening HAM weekend for my buddy and I was 0 javelina seen, 1 bobcat harvested.

A vintage pic of my wife's grandfather, uncle, and others in central Oregon. Not sure of the timeframe, but the two vehicles are certainly old.

You have the right idea about starting to beat the bushes and call. Trespass fees not that much for average unit. Special fee is suppose to have a little better odds, but it won't get you in the Red Desert. I used to work back there and got to know some landowners and took a couple. I got a nice buck out of unit 9 and when people look at the mount, I like to tell them it came from the least populated county of the least populated state in the United States.

I don't know what you want to shoot at 400 yards plus, but the target is going to be small with only 9 power. I have a 3.5 X 10 and I want to change scopes to feel more comforatable at 300 yards.
