Maybe just different areas, but I've worked in WY quite a bit, pronghorn hunted a couple years, and elk hunted several years, and I have always seen more game wardens in WY, than I have in other states.
-
I've been looking in the wrong places. Anyway that is in 37B?

Agree. Certainly doesn't say to apply with confidence that AGFC and Navajo Nation will ensure one doesn't have to pay $500 to hunt there.

Was there a rifle season still going.

Seems like the fair and right thing for the ranch to do would be only sell the access permits and trophy fee permits to tag holders. If the ranch wants to limit total people on the ranch(which they do) they could limit the assistants, if a guide is present. So it sounds like this Elusive Pursuit Outfitters has already planned to corner the market and secure all the permits. I would never contact an outfitter whose priority was greed and wanting sole rights.

So are you saying a hunter who pays the trespass fee will never encounter an inaccessible gate that is needed to access trust land, and the trophy fee is only required if the harvest is made on private land?
-
To ensure that DIY hunters have some access to the permits is great, but makes one wonder: 1) If permits are first come, first serve, why do you care if you only sell the permits to tag holders, which you should? Why do you need to know upfront whether they have an outfitter? The rules with the "assist" should address guides. 2). By advising that guided and nonguided will now be allotted, it sounds like this is an afterthought, only brought on by unscrupulous outfitter(s) already hitting up the ranch to corner all the permits. I would like to know who they are so I never call them. 3). Was there ever any thought that all these new rules( and those still forthcoming, as referenced) would seem appropriate to be published before the application period?

Thanks for the info, stillatmaxpoints.

Hopefully they pay taxes. Who knows today. The federal government backed off of Nevada rancher Bundy who is not paying grazing fees.

Good way to be branded a treehugger or PETA member, when it is so easy to find quota and population info on the web.- 14 replies

looking to learn from a successful predator hunter

Things come together better on some days, for sure. A couple weeks ago, this one came in just a couple minutes and stopped 10 yards from the call. -
My cabelas card has no pending charge. I hope the process is still incomplete.

In other words, lazy guys and road hunters like angled. Guys who find themselves even with, or above their quarry, prefer straight.

Those projects are good news projects. I would like to help on them myself. If I recall correctly, that unit reduced the tag allotment last fall, so it seems ironic that the survey count between 2011 and 2014 increased substantially. -
Congrats. I sent you a pm
