This is the first year I have put salt and feed out with a camera and it was a blast! I dont think it makes me a lazy hunter, I was packing 50lbs of feed down a canyon. If they want to take away baiting thats fine with me but until they do it is just a fun experience as an avid hunter. Those pics of deer hitting your feed as awesome!

I was thinking more along the lines of using technology to get the exact volume I know I dont know how to do it but I know there are people that can make it work. I think that we need a new system to credit all of the antlers. i think some records would change then. The water idea seems like the easy option but I doubt it is consistent enough.

Thats a good one, I shot a grasshopper with a bb gun when I was about 7! Big game was a pig in 24B when I was 10. Got the day off from school for the last day of the hunt.

The soft water pellets work great! I think that the fewer hunting opportunities is due to a rapidly increasing population of hunters. The economy hurts too, the G&F needs to make more money and they need more wildlife managers, they have some poor population management in a lot of areas.

Scout the area you want to hunt, if you have a good watering hole then it is best to sit it. Those big bucks water with the does when they rut so you should get a better chance at them. If you dont have a good water spot I try and find a good glassing spot and do some spot and stalk. All are good methods just have to do whats best for the area you hunt.

haha the deer beer run was funny! I would say on average deer drink every 3 to 4 days. Bucks are about the same but tend to hit at night, at least bigger ones do. It really depends on the weather and much more though. I know in the winter when I am hiking I drink maybe half as much water as I do in the summer. I have seen does drink on a daily basis before too so it varies a lot.

Those are impressive numbers! It is a great rival and one heck of a football player with a great story, who wouldnt want to watch that?
