bowhuntaz1 posted a topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
So I finaly went and got my camera. It was around a burn area from this year This decent buck decided to make his bedding area right in front of my trail camera. He filled up my sd card. Here are IMO some of the best pics of him. Any guesses on his score? -

Cage(confinement)traps you can use pretty much anywhere. Leg hold traps only on private property with permission. Plus all the regulations that go with them. -
Season opens Nov 1st. I'm ready to go. This is my first year trapping. I cant wait. Who else is ready to go? I have a 60 acer peice of land with some yotes and a few foxes I have permission to trap. Also going to try to get that badger that chased me up on a rock this past January.

Heads up guys and gals. FYI - A javelina submitted by the Az Game & Fish Department has tested positive for rabies at the AZ State Health Lab. The javelina came through a door and bit a man on the leg in the Morristown area on Oct. 19th. The bite victim was notified, and he has been advised to seek post exposure prophylaxis (PEP). The location is near the Hwy 60 & Hwy 74 junction. Brain tissue from this rabid javelina is being sent to the CDC Lab for variant typing. Be aware as this probably means there is some ongoing rabies activity (possibly in foxes?) in the outskirts of the Northwest Valley.

To keep people out, or keep you in??? -
No worries. I have a camera half way up that hill. I was going to go get it when I ran into the signs and the fence across the road. Now I have to wait till April 1st-ish to go get it. I also have another cam on the edge of the Tanner fire that I might have to wait to get when they let us in that area, IF it did not melt....

Workman Creek Recreation Area will be closed due to construction activities on Tonto National Forest Release Date: Aug 29, 2011 Young, Ariz. (Aug. 29, 2011) Tonto National Forest officials announced today that the Workman Creek Recreation Area will be closed, from the Elks Youth Camp east beyond the Workman Creek falls and north towards Reynolds Creek, for hazardous waste removal at Workman Creek Uranium Mine Sites, located on the Pleasant Valley Ranger District, Young, Ariz. Construction is scheduled to begin on September 6 and continue through December. Heavy equipment will be operating throughout Workman Creek on both sides of the canyon, side roads, and in the Cascade and Creekside day-use areas. The purpose of the closure is to ensure public and contractor safety. Wildlife restrictions and winter weather conditions determined the construction dates. An Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) was previously prepared to present a detailed analysis of reclamation alternatives that were used for agency decision-making. The analysis conclusion was that there are site environmental concerns related to arsenic, uranium, and radium-226. The clean-up will involve excavating the hot spot areas in the day-use sites and on-site disposal; rerouting the All-terrain Vehicle (ATV) traffic to eliminate access to the most highly affected road segments; and closing the adits (mine openings) with waste rock or bat gates. Copies of the project fact sheet are available at the Tonto National Forest Supervisors office (2324 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ) and the Pleasant Valley Ranger District office (Young, AZ). Please contact Dave Frew (928-462-4330) or Anne Fischer (602-225-5389) to schedule a time to view the EE/CA documents. The EE/CA and the project fact sheet are also available on www.fs.usda.gov/Tonto under Land/Resources Management/Projects. News Release So yes it is about "blinky, the three eyed fish." The flyers that are posted state "$5000 and or 6 months in jail for trespassers."
