A few more pics of the Key Deer and other stuff from Florida
bowhuntaz1 posted a topic in Other Big Game
My view every morning, looking into the gulf. This place was so great, they sold bait in a vending machine. My transportation for my stay. The boat my In-Laws live on is called the HuckleBerry... This is their dingy These two ladies made the marina their home for our stay, and greeted me after all my days of fishing. The real SpongeBob. My girls were afraid of him. These things were everywhere. I saw some Cuban boys with pellet guns taking some out. They said they were for dinner. They make it so easy to understand things Very colorful BLTS for lunch -

I'm out here in Marathon Key Florida visiting family. We went down to Key West for the day. On the way back, we spotted some Key Deer. They really enjoyed licking the salt off my hands. Some of the bucks already started dropping their antlers. Sorry the wife did not get any pictures of the bucks. I have them on my camera and will post in a few days when I get back. The deer in the back is a buck that already dropped both antlers.

I was there. the top cat I saw went for 1150. Gray fox were 28-38. Cats were up. Coyote was in the toilet this year. Best yote I saw went for 20. I left after my lots were sold around 6:30. My foxes went for 32 and the bobcat I brought went for 650. There was a LOT of fur this year. Over 800 lots.

These holes were dug in the past 2-3 days. Possible badger? I put a Covert cam on the bigger hole. Will find out (I hope) in a few days. Will keep you posted. Lets hear your guesses...

Well I found out what made the holes. Not what I was looking for. Still had fun.

Very nice. Love the miner's cat. I'm only at 3 fox, one yote, and one bobcat so far this year. -
I have had a hard time this trapping season, with only 1 bobcat, 1 coyote, and 3 fox to my name. I have heard from other trappers that the bobcat are harder to trap this year. anyone seeing any bobcats lately? little video of my most recent fox. I caught her boyfriend the night before in the same set. She went behind the trap to see if if there was another way in. Enjoy.

Yesterday I was out checking/setting my cage traps and came upon this. I actually got my foot tangled up in it while carrying my stuff, and fell and cracked my knee and shoulder pretty hard. This copper wire (string) was wrapped around 4 Saguaro cactus making a large square, 10 strands, about 6-8 feet off the ground. There was a section on the ground that I tripped on (could not see it cause it blends in so well with the desert floor). In the center of the square was an aluminum steak that a few strands were attached to. I took as much of the wire as I could find, as I did not want anyone or anything else to get tangled up in it. The wire weighs just over a pound. This is about 200 yards off a paved road very close to Mesa on the Tonto Forrest. My neighbor who has done some work on the border swears someone made an antenna booster for a drug drop. Amanda cant think of anything. The game and fish lady could not think of anything. The guy at the Forrest Service did not know anything. Pictures were taken this morning after I removed the majority of the wire yesterday. Did not have my camera when I found it. Any guesses? Lets hear them.

Posted by request from the lucky hunter. My buddy Richard and CWT member (bbd1234) has had a HECK of a 2 weeks. The first Thursday of the year, he tags out on his deer, Friday tags his 22 Javelina, Sunday Tags his first Lion, and then a few days ago filled his Metro Javelina tag. All with ARCHERY )))----------> His taxidermist and butcher loves him right now, but his wife... Well you know how that goes. BIG CONGRATS Richard... -
