I have a friend that shoots whitetail with a 223 and his wife shoots whitetail with a 222 swift. He loads his own amo. They are very familiar with both of those guns. They go bigger for muledeer.

I love it up there I just wish I could find time to go back and take my kids.

I hunt unit 27 and 28. I grew up and still live in morenci. I killed my first deer in unit 27 with my dad. I will always remember that hunt. I aimed and aimed I wanted that perfect heart and lung shot that he always did. Well I was a little off. I blew his bottom jaw off. OOOPPPSS. He was still good eating.

I just set both of mine out a couple days ago. I hope they are still there when I go and check them. I guess it doesnt matter where you put them or how high.If they want them they are going to take em.

There are 3 drop off points that i have came across in unit 27. They have about 15 to 20 back packs and clothes thrown around. But nothing like that. Yet.......

We were up in 22n a couple of year ago on an elk hunt and once you get off the road you dont see any hunters. They are affraid to walk in the snow. And be prepaired there is going to be snow. At last there was when we were their. GOOD LUCK!!

My thought is road hunting and bear baiting are not hunting by no means. And I am pretty sure they are both illegal. But when your sitting on a high ridge you see the same vehicles driving up and down the roads with lawn chairs in the back road hunting or (hunting for a road to hunt). With no game and fish officer in sight!! Just my thoughts and opinions.
