    All tuned up

my favorite thing (major sarcasim here) is to see some guy(havent seen a gal do this yet) at the range barely able to draw "his bow" by pushing it up in the air and dramaticaly contorting his body to obtain a possible full draw, hitting every thing but the target ...only to find out that hes on his way to hunt elk!!! truly thats my favorite
  6. that is one of the things about carbon I dont like-they exsplode., and to get high Quality +consistant arrows you pay out the ying yang. last year every time i went out I lost a carbon arrow (due to taking guesstimated risky shots on a trail target range) one miss is all it took. so this year im going to find a good clean consistant alluminum arrow - for the new shiny rig im going to sneak in the house

    Whisker Biscuit and Quikspin Vanes

I had an odd time fletching them (probably didnt wait long enough for the glue/or picked up the wrong glue) by the end of an hour and 8 freshly fletched arrows they were shooting inconsistant and wavier than the Queen of england in a parade and finaly all torn off (by me) idd like to try a faster rig with them ***after thought ***they slow your arrows way down -i dont have a fast bow ,+ a wopping 26 1/2 " of draw doesnt help add a buiscut and dura vanes and the deer will walk away from my arrows-

    Whisker Biscuit and Quikspin Vanes

this is funny, cause I just started (or am trying out ) quick spins and with a buscuit its a no-go. I believe duravanes are the manufactures recomended choice. I think I am going to can the buscuit and pick up a drop away.

    shafts

I ve been shooting CARB X"s for asome time now though I have had good luck with them Ive been thinking of trying some thing new- Preferably an arrow that makes the deer come right to you and offer a 20 yrd broad side shot- or one that is fairly consistant...

    CWD in Az.

outhouse (i like that HD) im sorry but name droping or use of scientist names still does not make you credible ...good try though. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, sitting outside on the pattio doesnt make you an "OUTDOOR" writer. ??? he didnt just insinuate.. HE DID!!.....

    CWD in Az.

IM not a writer, but if youre elbow deep in guts and not using a protective barrier ,and let say you cut /or /had cut your self and your open wound came in contact with a tainted bodily fluid ....wouldnt that too enable a blood bourne pathogen to get in your body??? >>>The above also isn't necessarily true of CJD. Isnt that how MURPHY'S LAW is able to take affect? ignoring possible risk. >>>As for what the "scientists" think, I've been covering CWD since the very first critter with .. we all know "scientific studies don't proove any thing, and that this war were in can be won by ARM-CHAIR Q'tr backs and generals out there >>>Are you aware that INGESTION appears to be the only way humans .. AGAIN murphy's law what can go wrong will go wrong. I don't know all the facts of this case, nor CJD. and if your not aware yet ,you do not either.nomater how long you have been writing about it. AND I do believe if you look past your own self righteousness for a moment ,you would see that .270 lost a buddy and is looking for reason why-not when you had indigestion last. newbee..
  14. Im gettin a new rifle and its a toss up between a .243 and .308-Cant afford both so ones gonna have to do for a wile . any thoughts,or differ cal. and why? my reason for the two above is ,im a fan of both and the ballistics are verry close on factory ammo except im pushin more weight w/ the later.
  15. newbee

    .243 or .308

w/ all the help and much deliberation im leaning toward the .308-and now debating the platform im going to choose.. I love my toys Ive always been a remington fan, savage has some nice TOOls of the trade-and my personal favorite flavor for a .308 is an M-14 but ouch$$$ ernesto had a good advice about my tax return heres an added thought- does anyone have any input on the new trend of short barrels - mostly geared for LE . any thoughts??
  16. newbee

    .243 or .308

thanks for all the responce so far- most of my decision is based on affordability,(ammo incl.) balistics, handling ,and at least a good selection of different bullets. Im a fan of short action rifles - recoil dosent bother me much with in reason- I dont reload yet .Ive yet to be drawn for Elk (one day:rolleyes: )but that would be a nice factor to add in on my sales pitch toMAMA

    OUTSTANDING! AWSOME LOOKING BUCKS!!
  19. I 'm listening CHD- If your cousin is a whinner and shams out of work thats his fault-the farmers and ranchers I have met had me awstruck at thier dicipline- there are lazy sack-o-crap Oxygen thiefs in every walk of life. And every one here has got one in thier family or closely related to one. The world we live in today will be the ruin of our nation,How many young adults do you know???think about that-my grand parents looked the same as they did 50 yrs ago(till they passed) cause life was hard living and any thing you wanted or needed you had to earn. they were men and woman by the age of at least 17 . nowadays you couldnt beat "what a kid wants to do with thier life" out of them. all they know is they want it all and not do shoot for it. Bottom line for me and the reason I chime in on posts that MENTION GRANOLA EATING FINGER POINTING TREE HUGGING PETCHULY WEARING TOFU SNACKING SANDLE SPORTING HACKY SACK PLAYING butt SITTING NO SHOWER TAKIN NAPPY ASSED HAIR HAVING HIPPIEs ,THAT HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO-(REALY NO RESPONSABILITIES) THAN COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW MUCH OF A BITCH THEY ARE AND HOW EVERY ONE ELSE SHOULD CATTER TO THEM!! MAKE ME F@$*ING SICK!!! it a shame that the poeple who should be out there fighting for our rights and try to make a difference are to busy trying to make a honest living and support themselves or families, and here's a lil more salt in the wound our tax dollars are supporting the verry same granollas trampling our rights! could you imagine our country if it were how they wanted it? wed be on the bottom of the food chain and the next territory of ,well any nation with balls. makes me sorry for the tangent

    lions?

    lions?

Should I tote this deer around on my back During rifle season ? as for the young goat...if a bear came by,wouldnt it be protecting my property???
  24. I am just curious-where are we going to get our food from ? dont get me wrong there is food at the store right now-wright? what about 5 -10 -15 yrs where is going to come from??? no offence Bow sniper but the parasites you mention break thier back feeding us (you included assumeing you eat beef )I know you filled your tag w/ a beautiful buck and it was a well diserved reward for the hard work you put in. but you cant honestly mean the whole welfare thing-If i could choose where my tax dollars went one box id check is rural AMERICAN farmers and ranchers. They are up at the butt crack of dawn and work till sun down-by the sweat of thier brow and thier broken backs to feed AMERICA.We need our farming communities, theyre one of the last real things left here that isnt a franchise or deep fried.I rather see cattle grasing than another dang cookie cutter stucco house on a postage stamp- Now what about forieghn owned corperate farms that open up shop here in the US and get paid for NOT growing food-now aint that a bitch. there are starving poeple every where -American family owned farms strugling and your tax dollars are going to pay a forieghn company NOT TO GROW FOOD OR raise cattle etc. I agree that the same Gronnolas will most likely push to ban hunting there as well - or some out of state firm is going to sue AZ to give them those tags at a discount for thier high paying customers-My bottom line is support your local commerce , buy American made products and enjoy what little time we have left on this planet cause as the saying goes "the only two things that are for sure is death and taxes" my .02 worth

    Traditional/recurve bows

GO TO CORNER ARCHERY!!!!!! They are located on Northern ave just east of 51st ave in phoenix. They are a professional Archery shop, not a corperate whore (spelled deliberatly)house.- Archery is thier Buisness and they know thier buisness!! they will Square you away. If you dont live near them (I drive 40 miles[right past -rymes with orts-mans] because of thier service) otherwise find a local shop that is an archery only shop and you should be fine.sorry I dont have any other suggestions
