Fracking Pros and Cons
reganranch replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Stanolind was the first company to initially start hydro-fracturing oil/ gas wells. It takes about a million + gallons of water to Frack a well in addition to the ton of water it took to drill the well. Hydro fracking is done by sending high pressure water and sand(silicate sand) down hole into the casing to blow out the formation rock to increase flow of gas,and/ or petroleum into the resavoir.Less than 0.5% is high chemical content. It's works really really well and can increase a small well of producing 20 barrels of oil a day to over 100. There usually is minimal flow back, and no oil/gas/or fracking material should be able to slip into the water table because the casing pipe is cemented from the resavoir up. The reason there is minimal flow back is because the Geologist and the Resavoir engineer have the entire resavoir mapped out before drilling even began so they know how much fracking material they will need. -

I'm sure Mr. Wagner appreciates you holding his hand Jcubed. I would probably want my hand held too if I got caught breaking a law like this with my pants down . If I had to put a price on my own self-inflicted negligence it would be close to 100k,+ some change. -

Did you know before hand that breaking the law would get you, Okay it wasn't that much, but 100 K are you kidding me because your feelings were hurt that you were investigated for breaking a current law you definetly enforce? What did you do with the hurt feelings money? Buy an Audi R8 with a college girlfriend? AzLance is right if you have any moral compass at all that money should go to a NGO wildlife agency. -

How many fords are in the million mile club? I've never heard anyone in the Diesel community mention how excited they were to throw a powerstroke into their Dodge or GM, or any vehicle for that matter. However, there are several Cummins and Duramax swaps from 67 Cameros, Jaguars, Fords, Jeeps, Scouts you name it. -

Any year Cummins would be great, any year 03+ newer durmax will be great! If you buy a newer diesel be sure to delete the emission parts off of it, I.e. the EGR, EGR Cooler, DPF, Urea etc. They will ruin your truck and clog it up with exhaust gas, and oil. I wouldn't be married to Ford Diesel Loyalism, many people have (including myself) and it has left many stranded. If you like driving your truck and not replacing head gaskets, injectors, oil coolers, rotating assembly, (major compoments that should not break under low mileage condistions) do not buy a Ford.
