Loop hole in dead animal removal for elk in coconino forest???
Lucafu1 replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in Elk Hunting
thanks for posting the regs cause i didnt know where to find them. im actually tired of all these new rules in that unit (i also am hunting in 5b). in the map i posted i would read that it is explaining the areas marked in green. i can see how you can read that first part and use that but i am sure it isnt that way. i guess its how you read it but more importantly i ts how THEY read it. what a headache. -

i dont know what youre reading or where the regs are posted but this map pretty much goes against what he is saying. http://www.redrockcountry.org/about-us/tmr/tmr-home/ROD_MBGR_Alt3_11x17.pdf -
that would be cool to know. Im sure there is a certain way to gut and skin it along with a bunch of other things.

las guijas dont deter much imo. it is rough and tough to hunt but you def need to keep any eye out, a few years ago during a pig hunt we picked up two stragglers, one was suffering from hypothermia from the cold rain, when i saw her i know she was gone. finally got BP to fly in and take her and later we heard she was dead when she hit the almbulance on the main road, i felt bad for her husband, there is a lot of traffic but they are hard to see cause they dont want to be. we hunt those mountains once to twice a year, what hunt you on?

kinda like when ryan voted for the patriot act to be permanent? -
people on this site are way to anal about "their spots" and people who are so lame to go out and try to jump on someone else's spot purposely is even worse. seriously who cares. i dont even ask because its like 50/50 if they get weird. most hunters i know will tell you where theyre at, i would. its not like theyre gonna be waiting for you when you get there haha, you still have to hunt for them.

Vortex Ranger 1000 Rangefinder

The warranty will be better than leica. I have found that leica is difficult to deal with i had a warranty problem with my leica and they took care of me quick. i like vortex and havent had a warranty issue yet with their products. -
if that is a combo lock on there then all you do is go down and get the code. they change them. the other lock looks to keep the chanin secured to the lock. maybe im wrong but i think they do that at the empiritas.

if you know how to use a compass its not hard, just takes time. know where you are at, shoot an azimuth, range it, walk the line, turn around and shoot a back azimuth to where you started and at the range you first took. you should be standing on top of him. this becomes more difficult/time consuming to do in brush or rough terrain so i just walk around till i find it.

i say who cares? i have a pretty nice deer on my wall from last year and i never even tried to measure it. i hunt meat first and horns second.
-
exactly. i keep my rifle loaded at all times. when in a truck i drop the chambered round into the mag well. when i get out it is chambered. if i see any game while driving i will pull over and try and harvest it. simple as that.
